  जान लो, सांसारिक जीवन तो बस एक खेल और तमाशा है और एक साज - सज्जा, और तुम्हारा आपस में एक - दूसरे पर बड़ाई जताना, और धन और सन्तान में परस्पर एक - दूसरे से बढ़ा हुआ प्रदर्शित करना । वर्षा का मिसाल की तरह जिसकी वनस्पति ने किसान का दिल मोह लिया । फिर वह पक जाती है ; फिर तुम उसे देखते हो कि वह पीली हो गई । फिर वह चूर्ण - विचूर्ण होकर रह जाती है, जबकि आख़िरत में कठोर यातना भी है और अल्लाह की क्षमा और प्रसन्नता भी । सांसारिक जीवन तो केवल धोखे की सुख - सामग्री है

• And O dear Prophet We have sent down the true Book upon you, confirming the Books preceding it, and a protector and witness over them – therefore judge between them according to what is sent down by Allah, and O listener, do not follow their desires, abandoning the truth which has come to you ; We have appointed for you all, a separate law and a way ; and had Allah willed He could have made you one nation, but the purpose is to test you by what He has given you, therefore seek to surpass one another in good deeds ; towards Allah only you will all return, so He will inform you concerning the matter in which you disputed.
  और हमने तुम पर भी बरहक़ किताब नाज़िल की जो किताब उसके वक्त में मौजूद है उसकी तसदीक़ करती है और उसकी निगेहबान है जो कुछ तुम पर ख़ुदा ने नाज़िल किया है उसी के मुताबिक़ तुम भी हुक्म दो और जो हक़ बात ख़ुदा की तरफ़ से आ चुकी है उससे कतरा के उन लोगों की ख्वाहिशे नफ़सियानी की पैरवी न करो और हमने तुम में हर एक के वास्ते एक एक शरीयत और ख़ास तरीक़े पर मुक़र्रर कर दिया और अगर ख़ुदा चाहता तो तुम सब के सब को एक ही उम्मत बना देता मगर ख़ुदा का मतलब यह था कि जो कुछ तुम्हें दिया है उसमें तुम्हारा इमतेहान करे बस तुम नेकी में लपक कर आगे बढ़ जाओ और तुम सब को ख़ुदा ही की तरफ़ लौट कर जाना है
