• How many a village have We destroyed that were ungrateful in their life! Those are their dwellings, uninhabited after them except for a little ; We are the inheritors.
  हमने कितनी ही बस्तियों को विनष्ट कर डाला, जिन्होंने अपनी गुज़र - बसर के संसाधन पर इतराते हुए अकृतज्ञता दिखाई । तो वे है उनके घर, जो उनके बाद आबाद थोड़े ही हुए । अन्ततः हम ही वारिस हुए

• Did you not see those who left their homes, whereas they numbered in thousands, fearing death ? So Allah said to them, “ Die” ; He then brought them back to life ; indeed Allah is Most Munificent towards mankind, but most men are ungrateful.
  क्या तुमने उन लोगों को नहीं देखा जो हज़ारों की संख्या में होने पर भी मृत्यु के भय से अपने घर - बार छोड़कर निकले थे ? तो अल्लाह ने उनसे कहा," मृत्यु प्राय हो जाओ तुम ।" फिर उसने उन्हें जीवन प्रदान किया । अल्लाह तो लोगों के लिए उदार अनुग्राही है, किन्तु अधिकतर लोग कृतज्ञता नहीं दिखलाते

• Said one who had knowledge of the Book:" I will bring it to thee within the twinkling of an eye!" Then when saw it placed firmly before him, he said:" This is by the Grace of my Lord! - to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful! and if any is grateful, truly his gratitude is for his own soul ; but if any is ungrateful, truly my Lord is Free of all Needs, Supreme in Honour!"
  जिस व्यक्ति के पास किताब का ज्ञान था, उसने कहा," मैं आपकी पलक झपकने से पहले उसे आपके पास लाए देता हूँ ।" फिर जब उसने उसे अपने पास रखा हुआ देखा तो कहा," यह मेरे रब का उदार अनुग्रह है, ताकि वह मेरी परीक्षा करे कि मैं कृतज्ञता दिखाता हूँ या कृतघ्न बनता हूँ । जो कृतज्ञता दिखलाता है तो वह अपने लिए ही कृतज्ञता दिखलाता है और वह जिसने कृतघ्नता दिखाई, तो मेरा रब निश्चय ही निस्पृह, बड़ा उदार है ।"

• It is He who revives you, then He will cause you to die and then He revives you. Indeed, the human is ungrateful.
  और वही है जिसने तुम्हें जीवन प्रदान किया । फिर वही तुम्हें मृत्यु देता है और फिर वही तुम्हें जीवित करनेवाला है । निस्संदेह मानव बड़ा ही अकृतज्ञ है

• We gave them this reward – the recompense of their ingratitude ; and whom do We punish, except the ungrateful ?
  ये हमने उनकी नाशुक्री की सज़ा दी और हम तो बड़े नाशुक्रों ही की सज़ा किया करते हैं

• If you become ungrateful, then indeed Allah is Independent of you ; and He does not like the ungratefulness of His bondmen ; and if you give thanks, He is pleased with it for you ; and no burdened soul will bear another soul’s burden ; you have then to return towards your Lord – He will therefore inform you of what you used to do ; undoubtedly, He knows what lies within the hearts.
  अगर तुमने उसकी नाशुक्री की तो खुदा तुमसे बिल्कुल बेपरवाह है और अपने बन्दों से कुफ्र और नाशुक्री को पसन्द नहीं करता और अगर तुम शुक्र करोगे तो वह उसको तुम्हारे वास्ते पसन्द करता है और कोई किसी का बोझ नहीं उठाएगा फिर तुमको अपने परवरदिगार की तरफ लौटना है तो जो कुछ करते थे वह तुम्हें बता देगा वह यक़ीनन दिलों के राज़ से खूब वाक़िफ है

• And when your Lord proclaimed, “ If you are grateful, I will surely enhance you, but if you are ungrateful, My punishment is indeed severe. ” ’
  और जब तुम्हारे परवरदिगार ने तुम्हें जता दिया कि अगर शुक्र करोगें तो मै यक़ीनन तुम पर ज्यादती करुँगा और अगर कहीं तुमने नाशुक्री की तो यक़ीनन मेरा अज़ाब सख्त है

• Verily man is Unto his Lord ungrateful.
  निस्संदेह मनुष्य अपने रब का बड़ा अकृतज्ञ हैं,

• He has given you all that you asked of Him ; and if you try to reckon up God ' s favours, you will not be able to count them. Truly man is very unjust, very ungrateful.
  जो कुछ तुमने उससे माँगा उसमें से तुम्हे दिया और तुम ख़ुदा की नेमतो गिनती करना चाहते हो तो गिन नहीं सकते हो तू बड़ा बे इन्साफ नाशुक्रा है
