  इस पर अभी सुलेमान कुछ कहने न पाए थे कि वह शख्स जिसके पास किताबे का किस कदर इल्म था बोला कि मै आप की पलक झपकने से पहले तख्त को आप के पास हाज़िर किए देता हूँ तो जब सुलेमान ने उसे अपने पास मौजूद पाया तो कहने लगे ये महज़ मेरे परवरदिगार का फज़ल व करम है ताकि वह मेरा इम्तेहान ले कि मै उसका शुक्र करता हूँ या नाशुक्री करता हूँ और जो कोई शुक्र करता है वह अपनी ही भलाई के लिए शुक्र करता है और जो शख्स ना शुक्री करता है तो मेरा परवरदिगार यक़ीनन बेपरवा और सख़ी है

• Yet they have made some of His servants a part of Him. Indeed man is most evidently thankless.
  और उन लोगों ने उसके बन्दों में से उसके लिए औलाद क़रार दी है इसमें शक़ नहीं कि इन्सान खुल्लम खुल्ला बड़ा ही नाशक्रा है

• Your Lord may well show Mercy to you, but if you revert to your evil behaviour, We shall revert to chastising you. We have made Hell a prison for those who are thankless of Allah ' s bounties.
  हो सकता है तुम्हारा रब तुमपर दया करे, किन्तु यदि तुम फिर उसी पूर्व नीति की ओर पलटे तो हम भी पलटेंगे, और हमने जहन्नम को इनकार करनेवालों के लिए कारागार बना रखा है

  उन्होंने उसके बन्दों में से कुछ को उसका अंश ठहरा दिया! निश्चय ही मनुष्य खुला कृतघ्न है

• And if we cause man to taste some mercy from Us and afterward withdraw it from him, lo! he is despairing, thankless.
  और अगर हम इन्सान को अपनी रहमत का मज़ा चखाएं फिर उसको हम उससे छीन लें तो यक़ीनन बड़ा बेआस और नाशुक्रा हो जाता है

• And if we cause man to taste some mercy from Us and afterward withdraw it from him, lo! he is despairing, thankless.
  यदि हम मनुष्य को अपनी दयालुता का रसास्वादन कराकर फिर उसको छीन लॆं, तॊ निश्चय ही वह निराशावादी, कृतघ्न है

• When a calamity befalls you on the sea, all those whom you invoke forsake you except Him. But when He delivers you safely to the shore you turn away from Him, for man is indeed most thankless.
  और जब समन्दर में कभी तुम को कोई तकलीफ पहुँचे तो जिनकी तुम इबादत किया करते थे ग़ायब हो गए मगर बस वही उस पर भी जब ख़ुदा ने तुम को छुटकारा देकर खुशकी तक पहुँचा दिया तो फिर तुम इससे मुँह मोड़ बैठें और इन्सान बड़ा ही नाशुक्रा है

• And when harm toucheth you upon the sea, all unto whom ye cry fail save Him, but when He bringeth you safe to land, ye turn away, for man was ever thankless.
  जब समुद्र में तुम पर कोई आपदा आती है तो उसके सिवा वे सब जिन्हें तुम पुकारते हो, गुम होकर रह जाते है, किन्तु फिर जब वह तुम्हें बचाकर थल पर पहुँचा देता है तो तुम उससे मुँह मोड़ जाते हो । मानव बड़ा ही अकृतज्ञ है

• If ye are thankless, yet Allah is Independent of you, though He is not pleased with thanklessness for His bondmen ; and if ye are thankful He is pleased therewith for you. No laden soul will bear another ' s load. Then unto your Lord is your return ; and He will tell you what ye used to do. Lo! He knoweth what is in the breasts.
  अगर तुमने उसकी नाशुक्री की तो खुदा तुमसे बिल्कुल बेपरवाह है और अपने बन्दों से कुफ्र और नाशुक्री को पसन्द नहीं करता और अगर तुम शुक्र करोगे तो वह उसको तुम्हारे वास्ते पसन्द करता है और कोई किसी का बोझ नहीं उठाएगा फिर तुमको अपने परवरदिगार की तरफ लौटना है तो जो कुछ करते थे वह तुम्हें बता देगा वह यक़ीनन दिलों के राज़ से खूब वाक़िफ है
