  भला वह कौन है कि जब मुज़तर उसे पुकारे तो दुआ क़ुबूल करता है और मुसीबत को दूर करता है और तुम लोगों को ज़मीन में नायब बनाता है तो क्या ख़ुदा के साथ कोई और माबूद है उस पर भी तुम लोग बहुत कम नसीहत व इबरत हासिल करते हो

• to witness the benefits in store for them, and pronounce the name of Allah during the appointed days over the cattle that He has provided them. So eat of it and feed the distressed and the needy.
  ताकि वे उन लाभों को देखें जो वहाँ उनके लिए रखे गए है । और कुछ ज्ञात और निश्चित दिनों में उन चौपाए अर्थात मवेशियों पर अल्लाह का नाम लें, जो उसने उन्हें दिए है । फिर उसमें से स्वयं भी खाओ और तंगहाल मुहताज को भी खिलाओ ।"

• Is not He Who responds to the distressed one, when he calls Him, and Who removes the evil, and makes you inheritors of the earth, generations after generations. Is there any ilah with Allah ? Little is that you remember!

• When that Our messengers came to Lot he was troubled on their account and distressed for them ; but they said, ' Fear not, neither sorrow, for surely we shall deliver thee and thy family, except thy wife ; she has become of those that tarry.
  जब यह हुआ कि हमारे भेजे हुए लूत के पास आए तो उनका आना उसे नागवार हुआ और उनके प्रति दिल को तंग पाया । किन्तु उन्होंने कहा," डरो मत और न शोकाकुल हो । हम तुम्हें और तुम्हारे घरवालों को बचा लेंगे सिवाय तुम्हारी स्त्री के । वह पीछे रह जानेवालों में से है

• There has come to you a Messenger of Allah from among yourselves, who is distressed by the losses you sustain, who is ardently desirous of your welfare and is tender and merciful to those that believe.
  लोगों तुम ही में से एक रसूल तुम्हारे पास आ चुका की ये हालत है कि उस पर शाक़ है कि तुम तकलीफ उठाओ और उसे तुम्हारी बेहूदी का हौका है ईमानदारो पर हद दर्जे रफ़ीक़ मेहरबान हैं

• We have not revealed unto thee this Qur ' an that thou shouldst be distressed,
  हमने तुम पर कुरान इसलिए नाज़िल नहीं किया कि तुम मशक्क़त उठाओ

• Believers, do not be like those who distressed Moses and then Allah declared him quit of the ill they spoke about him ; and he had a high standing with Allah.

  और नूह के पास ये ' वही ' भेज दी गई कि जो ईमान ला चुका उनके सिवा अब कोई शख़्श तुम्हारी क़ौम से हरगिज़ ईमान न लाएगा तो तुम ख्वाहमा ख्वाह उनकी कारस्तानियों का ग़म न खाओ

• And when Our messengers came unto Lot, he was distressed and knew not how to protect them. He said: This is a distressful day.
  जो किसी तरह टल नहीं सकता और जब हमारे भेजे हुए फरिश्ते लूत के पास आए तो उनके ख्याल से रजीदा हुए और उनके आने से तंग दिल हो गए और कहने लगे कि ये सख्त मुसीबत का दिन है
