Nor will they cease fighting you until they turn you back from your faith if they can. And if any of you Turn back from their faith and die in unbelief, their works will bear no fruit in this life and in the Hereafter ; they will be companions of the Fire and will abide therein.
  तुमसे लोग हुरमत वाले महीनों की निस्बत पूछते हैं कि जिहाद उनमें जायज़ है तो तुम उन्हें जवाब दो कि इन महीनों में जेहाद बड़ा गुनाह है और ये भी याद रहे कि ख़ुदा की राह से रोकना और ख़ुदा से इन्कार और मस्जिदुल हराम से रोकना और जो उस के अहल है उनका मस्जिद से निकाल बाहर करना ख़ुदा के नज़दीक इस से भी बढ़कर गुनाह है और फ़ितना परदाज़ी कुश्ती ख़़ून से भी बढ़ कर है और ये कुफ्फ़ार हमेशा तुम से लड़ते ही चले जाएँगें यहाँ तक कि अगर उन का बस चले तो तुम को तुम्हारे दीन से फिरा दे और तुम में जो शख्स अपने दीन से फिरा और कुफ़्र की हालत में मर गया तो ऐसों ही का किया कराया सब कुछ दुनिया और आखेरत में अकारत है और यही लोग जहन्नुमी हैं वह उसी में हमेशा रहेंगें

• And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah altogether and everywhere ; but if they cease, verily Allah doth see all that they do.
  उनसे युद्ध करो, यहाँ तक कि फ़ितना बाक़ी न रहे और दीन पूरा का पूरा अल्लाह ही के लिए हो जाए । फिर यदि वे बाज़ आ जाएँ तो अल्लाह उनके कर्म को देख रहा है

• And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah ; but if they cease, Let there be no hostility except to those who practise oppression.
  तुम उनसे लड़ो यहाँ तक कि फ़ितना शेष न रह जाए और दीन अल्लाह के लिए हो जाए । अतः यदि वे बाज़ आ जाएँ तो अत्याचारियों के अतिरिक्त किसी के विरुद्ध कोई क़दम उठाना ठीक नहीं

• And fear tumult or oppression, which affecteth not in particular those of you who do wrong: and know that Allah is strict in punishment.
  बचो उस फ़ितने से जो अपनी लपेट में विशेष रूप से केवल अत्याचारियों को ही नहीं लेगा, जान लो अल्लाह कठोर दंड देनेवाला है

• And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have Turned you out ; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter ; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they fight you there ; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith.
  और जहाँ कहीं उनपर क़ाबू पाओ, क़त्ल करो और उन्हें निकालो जहाँ से उन्होंने तुम्हें निकाला है, इसलिए कि फ़ितना क़त्ल से भी बढ़कर गम्भीर है । लेकिन मस्जिदे हराम के निकट तुम उनसे न लड़ो जब तक कि वे स्वयं तुमसे वहाँ युद्ध न करें । अतः यदि वे तुमसे युद्ध करें तो उन्हें क़त्ल करो - ऐसे इनकारियों का ऐसा ही बदला है

  वे तुमसे आदरणीय महीने में युद्ध के विषय में पूछते है । कहो," उसमें लड़ना बड़ी गम्भीर बात है, परन्तु अल्लाह के मार्ग से रोकना, उसके साथ अविश्वास करना, मस्जिदे हराम से रोकना और उसके लोगों को उससे निकालना, अल्लाह की स्पष्ट में इससे भी अधिक गम्भीर है और फ़ितना, रक्तपात से भी बुरा है ।" और उसका बस चले तो वे तो तुमसे बराबर लड़ते रहे, ताकि तुम्हें तुम्हारे दीन से फेर दें । और तुममे से जो कोई अपने दीन से फिर जाए और अविश्वासी होकर मरे, तो ऐसे ही लोग है जिनके कर्म दुनिया और आख़िरत में नष्ट हो गए, और वही आग में पड़नेवाले है, वे उसी में सदैव रहेंगे

  बस फिर क्या था घर में भीषण क्लेश शुरू हो गया और कई दिनों तक कड़वाहट घुलती रही, जितनी देर कि फिर सारी बात स्पष्ट न हो गई ।

  और तुम उन को जहाँ पाओ मार ही डालो और उन लोगों ने जहाँ से तुम्हें शहर बदर किया है तुम भी उन्हें निकाल बाहर करो और फितना परदाज़ी खूँरेज़ी से भी बढ़ के है और जब तक वह लोग मस्ज़िद हराम के पास तुम से न लडे तुम भी उन से उस जगह न लड़ों पस अगर वह तुम से लड़े तो बेखटके तुम भी उन को क़त्ल करो काफ़िरों की यही सज़ा है
