  क्या तुमने उन लोगों को नहीं देखा जिनको सरगोशियाँ करने से मना किया गया ग़रज़ जिस काम की उनको मुमानिअत की गयी थी उसी को फिर करते हैं और गुनाह और ज्यादती और रसूल की नाफरमानी की सरगोशियाँ करते हैं और जब तुम्हारे पास आते हैं तो जिन लफ्ज़ों से ख़ुदा ने भी तुम को सलाम नहीं किया उन लफ्ज़ों से सलाम करते हैं और अपने जी में कहते हैं कि जो कुछ हम कहते हैं ख़ुदा हमें उसकी सज़ा क्यों नहीं देता उनको दोज़ख़ ही काफी है जिसमें ये दाख़िल होंगे तो वह बुरी जगह है

• The likeness of those who were laden with the Taurat and then they bare it not, is as the likeness of the ass bearing tomes. hapless is the likeness of the people who belie the signs of Allah. And Allah guideth not a wrong doing people. J
  जिन लोगों पर तौरेत लदवायी गयी है उन्होने उस को न उठाया उनकी मिसाल गधे की सी है जिस पर बड़ी बड़ी किताबें लदी हों जिन लोगों ने ख़ुदा की आयतों को झुठलाया उनकी भी क्या बुरी मिसाल है और ख़ुदा ज़ालिम लोगों को मंज़िल मकसूद तक नहीं पहुँचाया करता

• Whoso on that day turneth his back to them, unless manoeuvring for battle or intent to join a company, he truly hath incurred wrath from Allah, and his habitation will be hell, a hapless journey ' s end.
  जिस किसी ने भी उस दिन उनसे अपनी पीठ फेरी - यह और बात है कि युद्ध - चाल के रूप में या दूसरी टुकड़ी से मिलने के लिए ऐसा करे - तो वह अल्लाह के प्रकोप का भागी हुआ और उसका ठिकाना जहन्नम है, और क्या ही बुरा जगह है वह पहुँचने की!

• O Prophet! strive hard against the infidels and the hypocrites, and be stern Unto them. And their abode is Hell: a hapless destination!
  ऐ नबी! इनकार करनेवालों और कपटाचारियों से जिहाद करो और उनके साथ सख़्ती से पेश आओ । उनका ठिकाना जहन्नम है और वह अन्ततः पहुँचने की बहुत बुरी जगह है

  लेकिन फिर उसके द्विविधा - व के कारण सिन्धु श्रवण में वह कथा के अंत मेंनिहित स्थिति के उस व्यंग्य को पुनः पूरी तरह नहीं पकड पाती कि जब अभागे बालक के माता - पिता राजा दशरथ के बारे में भविष्यवाणी करते हैं कि वह भी पुत्र - वियों के शोक से ही मृत्यु को प्राप्त होंगे ; तो वह संतानहीन राजा के लिए शाप नहीं वरन् वरदान होता है ।

• Enter ye the gates of Hell as abiders therein. hapless is the abode of the stiff - necked.
  अब जहन्नुम के दरवाज़े में दाख़िल हो जाओ हमेशा उसी में रहो, ग़रज़ तकब्बुर करने वालों का भी बुरा ठिकाना है

• And whoso opposeth the messenger after the guidance hath been manifested unto him, and followeth other than the believer ' s way, We appoint for him that unto which he himself hath turned, and expose him unto hell - a hapless journey ' s end!
  और जो शख्स राहे रास्त के ज़ाहिर होने के बाद रसूल से सरकशी करे और मोमिनीन के तरीक़े के सिवा किसी और राह पर चले तो जिधर वह फिर गया है हम भी उधर ही फेर देंगे और उसे जहन्नुम में झोंक देंगे और वह तो बहुत ही बुरा ठिकाना

• And for those who disbelieve in their Lord will be the torment of Hell ; and a hapless destination!
  और जो लोग अपने परवरदिगार के मुनकिर हैं उनके लिए जहन्नुम का अज़ाब है और वह बुरा ठिकाना है

• A curse is made to follow them in the world and on the Day of Resurrection. hapless is the gift given.
