  और यदि जब तुम स्त्रियों को तलाक़ दे दो और वे अपनी निश्चित अवधि को पहुँच जाएँ, जो सामान्य नियम के अनुसार उन्हें रोक लो या सामान्य नियम के अनुसार उन्हें विदा कर दो । और तुम उन्हें नुक़सान पहुँचाने के ध्येय से न रोको कि ज़्यादती करो । और जो ऐसा करेगा, तो उसने स्वयं अपने ही ऊपर ज़ुल्म किया । और अल्लाह की आयतों को परिहास का विषय न बनाओ, और अल्लाह की कृपा जो तुम पर हुई है उसे याद रखो और उस किताब और तत्वदर्शिता को याद रखो जो उसने तुम पर उतारी है, जिसके द्वारा वह तुम्हें नसीहत करता है । और अल्लाह का डर रखो और भली - भाँति जान लो कि अल्लाह हर चीज को जाननेवाला है

  और जब तुम अपनी बीवियों को तलाक़ दो और उनकी मुद्दत पूरी होने को आए तो अच्छे उनवान से उन को रोक लो या हुस्ने सुलूक से बिल्कुल रुख़सत ही कर दो और उन्हें तकलीफ पहुँचाने के लिए न रोको ताकि ज्यादती करने लगो और जो ऐसा करेगा तो यक़ीनन अपने ही पर जुल्म करेगा और ख़ुदा के एहकाम को कुछ हँसी ठट्टा न समझो और ख़ुदा ने जो तुम्हें नेअमतें दी हैं उन्हें याद करो और जो किताब और अक्ल की बातें तुम पर नाज़िल की उनसे तुम्हारी नसीहत करता है और ख़ुदा से डरते रहो और समझ रखो कि ख़ुदा हर चीज़ को ज़रुर जानता है
