• And whoever commits a mistake, or a sin, and then blames it on an innocent person, has taken a slander and a clear sin.
  और जो व्यक्ति कोई ग़लती या गुनाह की कमाई करे, फिर उसे किसी निर्दोष पर थोप दे, तो उसने एक बड़े लांछन और खुले गुनाह का बोझ अपने ऊपर ले लिया

• Lo! they who spread the slander are a gang among you. Deem it not a bad thing for you ; nay, it is good for you. Unto every man of them that which he hath earned of the sin ; and as for him among them who had the greater share therein, his will be an awful doom.
  जो लोग तोहमत घड़ लाए है वे तुम्हारे ही भीतर की एक टोली है । तुम उसे अपने लिए बुरा मत समझो, बल्कि वह भी तुम्हारे लिए अच्छा ही है । उनमें से प्रत्येक व्यक्ति के लिए उतना ही हिस्सा है जितना गुनाह उसने कमाया, और उनमें से जिस व्यक्ति ने उसकी ज़िम्मेदारी का एक बड़ा हिस्सा अपने सिर लिया उसके लिए बड़ा यातना है

• And wherefore, when ye heard it, did ye not say: it is not for us to speak thereof, hallowed be Thou! that is a slander mighty!
  और जब तुमने ऐसी बात सुनी थी तो तुमने लोगों से क्यों न कह दिया कि हमको ऐसी बात मुँह से निकालनी मुनासिब नहीं सुबहान अल्लाह ये बड़ा भारी बोहतान है

• Some of the Jews interchange the words from their places and say, “ We hear and disobey” – and they say “ Hear - may you not be able to hear” – and they say “ Raena ” distorting it with their tongues and in order to slander religion ; had they said, “ We hear and we obey” and “ Kindly listen to us, O dear Prophet, ” and “ Look mercifully upon us, O dear Prophet”, it would have been much better for them and more just – but Allah has cursed them for their disbelief ; so they do not believe except a little.
  यहूद से कुछ लोग ऐसे भी हैं जो बातों में उनके महल व मौक़े से हेर फेर डाल देते हैं और अपनी ज़बानों को मरोड़कर और दीन पर तानाज़नी की राह से तुमसे समेअना व असैना और वसमअ गैरा मुसमइन राअना मेरा ख्याल करो मेरे चरवाहे कहा करते हैं और अगर वह इसके बदले समेअना व अताअना और इसमाआ और के एवज़ उनजुरना कहते तो उनके हक़ में कहीं बेहतर होता और बिल्कुल सीधी बात थी मगर उनपर तो उनके कुफ़्र की वजह से ख़ुदा की फ़िटकार है

  इस मिथ्यापवाद के प्रति अपने आक्रोस की स्वाभाविकता में आरती अपना त्यागपत्र, जिसे उसकि पति ने तब तैयार किया था जब उसने आरती को इतना आत्मनिर्भर होते हुए देखा था, आगे बढ़ा देती है ।

• O Prophet! If faithful women come to you, to take the oath of allegiance to you, that they shall not ascribe any partners to Allah, that they shall not steal, nor commit adultery, nor kill their children, nor utter any slander that they may have intentionally fabricated, nor disobey you in what is right, then accept their allegiance, and plead for them to Allah for forgiveness. Indeed Allah is all - forgiving, all - merciful
  जब तुम्हारे पास ईमानदार औरतें तुमसे इस बात पर बैयत करने आएँ कि वह न किसी को ख़ुदा का शरीक बनाएँगी और न चोरी करेंगी और न जेना करेंगी और न अपनी औलाद को मार डालेंगी और न अपने हाथ पाँव के सामने कोई बोहतान गढ़ के लाएँगी, और न किसी नेक काम में तुम्हारी नाफ़रमानी करेंगी तो तुम उनसे बैयत ले लो और ख़ुदा से उनके मग़फ़िरत की दुआ माँगो बेशक बड़ा ख़ुदा बख्शने वाला मेहरबान है

• Whosoever earns a fault or a sin and casts it upon the innocent, indeed, he bears the slander and a clear sin.
  और जो शख्स कोई ख़ता या गुनाह करे फिर उसे किसी बेक़सूर के सर थोपे तो उसने एक बड़े और सरीही गुनाह को अपने ऊपर लाद लिया

• Indeed those who wish that slander should spread among the Muslims – for them is a painful punishment in this world and in the Hereafter ; and Allah knows, and you do not know.
