  समूद को और उसके भाई सालेह को भेजा । उसने कहा," ऐ मेरी क़़ौम के लोगों! अल्लाह की बन्दगी करो । उसके सिवा तुम्हारा कोई अन्य पूज्य - प्रभु नहीं । उसी ने तुम्हें धरती से पैदा किया और उसमें तुम्हें बसायाय़ अतः उससे क्षमा माँगो ; फिर उसकी ओर पलट आओ । निस्संदेह मेरा रब निकट है, प्रार्थनाओं को स्वीकार करनेवाला भी ।"

• Have they not observed what is before them and what is behind them of the sky and the earth ? If We will, We can make the earth swallow them, or cause obliteration from the sky to fall on them. Lo! herein surely is a portent for every slave who turneth repentant.
  तो क्या उन लोगों ने आसमान और ज़मीन की तरफ भी जो उनके आगे और उनके पीछे हैं ग़ौर नहीं किया कि अगर हम चाहे तो उन लोगों को ज़मीन में धँसा दें या उन पर आसमान का कोई टुकड़ा ही गिरा दें इसमें शक नहीं कि इसमें हर रूजू करने वाले बन्दे के लिए यक़ीनी बड़ी इबरत है

• And they ask you about menstruation: say, “ It is harmful, so keep away from women during menstruation. And do not approach them until they have become pure. Once they have become pure, approach them in the way God has directed you. ” God loves the repentant, and He loves those who keep clean. ”
  और वे तुमसे मासिक - धर्म के विषय में पूछते है । कहो," वह एक तकलीफ़ और गन्दगी की चीज़ है । अतः मासिक - धर्म के दिनों में स्त्रियों से अलग रहो और उनके पास न जाओ, जबतक कि वे पाक - साफ़ न हो जाएँ । फिर जब वे भली - भाँति पाक - साफ़ हो जाए, तो जिस प्रकार अल्लाह ने तुम्हें बताया है, उनके पास आओ । निस्संदेह अल्लाह बहुत तौबा करनेवालों को पसन्द करता है और वह उन्हें पसन्द करता है जो स्वच्छता को पसन्द करते है

• Then Allah sent a raven scratching up the ground, to show him how to hide his brother ' s naked corpse. He said: Woe unto me! Am I not able to be as this raven and so hide my brother ' s naked corpse ? And he became repentant.
  तब अल्लाह ने एक कौआ भेजा जो भूमि कुरेदने लगा, ताकि उसे दिखा दे कि वह अपने भाई के शव को कैसे छिपाए । कहने लगा," अफ़सोस मुझ पर! क्या मैं इस कौए जैसा भी न हो सका कि अपने भाई का शव छिपा देता ?" फिर वह लज्जित हुआ

• Behold they not that which is before them and that which is behind them of the heaven and the earth If We will, We shall sink the earth with them or cause a fragment of the heaven to fall on them. Verily therein is a sign Unto every repentant bondman.
