  तुमसे लोग पूंछते हैं कि कौन चीज़ उनके लिए हलाल की गयी है तुम कह दो कि तुम्हारे लिए पाकीज़ा चीजें हलाल की गयीं और शिकारी जानवर जो तुमने शिकार के लिए सधा रखें है और जो ख़ुदा ने तुम्हें बताये हैं उनमें के कुछ तुमने उन जानवरों को भी सिखाया हो तो ये शिकारी जानवर जिस शिकार को तुम्हारे लिए पकड़ रखें उसको खाओ और ख़ुदा का नाम ले लिया करो और ख़ुदा से डरते रहो इसमें तो शक ही नहीं कि ख़ुदा बहुत जल्द हिसाब लेने वाला है

  वे तुमसे पूछते है कि" उनके लिए क्या हलाल है ?" कह दो," तुम्हारे लिए सारी अच्छी स्वच्छ चीज़ें हलाल है और जिन शिकारी जानवरों को तुमने सधे हुए शिकारी जानवर के रूप में सधा रखा हो - जिनको जैस अल्लाह ने तुम्हें सिखाया हैं, सिखाते हो - वे जिस शिकार को तुम्हारे लिए पकड़े रखे, उसको खाओ और उसपर अल्लाह का नाम लो । और अल्लाह का डर रखो । निश्चय ही अल्लाह जल्द हिसाब लेनेवाला है ।"

• O you who have believed, do not prohibit the good things which Allah has made lawful to you and do not transgress. Indeed, Allah does not like transgressors.
  ऐ ईमान लानेवालो! जो अच्छी पाक चीज़े अल्लाह ने तुम्हारे लिए हलाल की है, उन्हें हराम न कर लो और हद से आगे न बढ़ो । निश्चय ही अल्लाह को वे लोग प्रिय नहीं है, जो हद से आगे बढ़ते है

  ऐ नबी हमने तुम्हारे वास्ते तुम्हारी उन बीवियों को हलाल कर दिया है जिनको तुम मेहर दे चुके हो और तुम्हारी उन लौंडियों को जो खुदा ने तुमको माले ग़नीमत में अता की है और तुम्हारे चचा की बेटियाँ और तुम्हारी फूफियों की बेटियाँ और तुम्हारे मामू की बेटियाँ और तुम्हारी ख़ालाओं की बेटियाँ जो तुम्हारे साथ हिजरत करके आयी हैं अगर वह अपने को नबी को दे दें और नबी भी उससे निकाह करना चाहते हों मगर ये हुक्म सिर्फ तुम्हारे वास्ते ख़ास है और मोमिनीन के लिए नहीं और हमने जो कुछ आम मोमिनीन पर उनकी बीवियों और उनकी लौंडियों के बारे में मुक़र्रर कर दिया है हम खूब जानते हैं और ताकि तुमको कोई दिक्क़त न हो और खुदा तो बड़ा बख़शने वाला मेहरबान है
