The society changes with time, at an uniform pace. People in different generations have a variety of opinions, regarding lifestyle, ideologies, opinions, believes, and overall behaviour. Thus there is a huge and inevitable gap between two people belonging to different times and environment.

This gap is sometimes healthy and progressive while sometimes results in bitterness amongst society. This gap is quite obvious as they are raised in entirely different scenario. On one hand it provides a space for new ideas to come up, while on the other hand it often causes conflicts between generations. We have seen parents trying to inculcate their ideologies and values in kids who want to live and explore the world on their own.

This gap is actually interesting and useful. Since each generation sets its own trends, political views, religious believes, their own slangs, technology.

For instance, joint families were prevalent earlier, these days nuclear families are more common. Youngsters are more techno freaks now, while more time with nature was spent in early days. These days people crave for privacy. The situation of women have also changed in society. Earlier they were confined inside the home which is completely opposite now. This change is visible everywhere in society including cinema, songs, art, jobs, politics and even at home.

We also see many people excitedly trying to be a part of the new trends and styles. The problem arises when we try to superimpose our views and believes on others. When people feel them superior over others. This clash is hazardous.

The only way we can utilize this gap is by respecting both cultures, by understanding the progress and accepting them, by learning from the experience of older ones and using the energy of the new generation.

There is a need for developing this acceptance for bridging this gap.
