Singapore or also known as the “Switzerland of Asia” is a microcosm of Asia populated by Indians, Malays, Chinese, and a large group of workers and expatriates from all around the world. In recent years Singapore’s tourism has skyrocketed and for obvious reasons. From having Asia’s largest airport to museums, wildlife sanctuaries, beaches, tourist resorts, skyscrapers, and gardens Singapore has it all.

Though Singapore has a majority of the Chinese population it prides in itself being a multi-racial city having people from different countries, backgrounds, and cultures. It is also a religiously diverse city with no religious group forming a majority. The city also has religious spots for people to visit which are not only pleasing but are also harmonious and soothing, they also allow non-followers to visit.

Singaporeans pride in their food which just like the city is a mix of all cultures and traditions. One can find bustling hawker centers and coffee shops open 24 hours a day offering cheap foods from all around Asia. Singapore is also a city that will please not only people who are fond of traveling but also people who love shopping as it provides shoppers to bust their baggage allowances in shopping hubs like Orchard Road and Suntec City.

The “universal studios” a theme park located with resorts on Sentosa Island in Singapore is a real eye-catcher. It involves movie theme based rides, zones, and shows that are sure to entertain all age groups. The new and upcoming “city in a garden” is garden concepts being promoted by the Singaporean government which are visually appealing.

Singapore also has natural parks and wildlife sanctuaries which include” the Jurong bird park”, “Singapore zoo”, and “the night safari” which are also very famous tourist attractions and at the same time they take care of endangered and other species of underwater and wildlife creatures.

The above-mentioned sites are real eye catchers and a must see on every tourist’s list but to know the city much better one must visit its villages like the Changi village in the east which not only helps one to understand the city better but also gives an insight into its rich history and heritage.

In all Singapore is a fascinating and wonderful city and must be visited by everyone. Though it may get a little expensive it will give a load of enjoyment and memories to take back home with you.
