Sleep is the one thing which everyone love to do. Sleep is of two types REM sleep and NON-REM. Most of the times, we dream during REM sleep.

Dreams are mostly hallucinations. Our brain is active even when we sleep, that tends the thoughts to make this hallucination called “dream”. The same thoughts are logical when we are awake. Usually dreams occur only by the recent thoughts and actions which are made by ourselves. Amygdala is the active part of the brain during the dream. It is more active in our sleep than our normal period. So our dream could be anything like swimming, running, dancing etc. We don’t do these physical actions, as the brainstem sends the nerve signals during the sleep that helps the muscles to relax.

NIGHTMARES

Nightmares occur frequently for the people who are experiencing stress, anxiety, depression etc. It is nothing but the unproductive and frightened feeling of us that presents itself in the form of nightmare. It may also cause sleeping disorders. The major factor which influences dream is our health. The food which we intake also leads to better or scary dreams. Some kind of food also helps to remember our dreams.

TIPS FOR GOOD SLEEP

  • Exercising daily in the morning or evening times will help you to have a good sleep.

  • Having proper food in the correct time will help you to have a good sleep.

  • Avoid using electronic devices before you go to bed.

  • Follow a proper schedule.

  • Minimize the intake of coffee.

  • Meditate daily.

Good sleep is essential for everyone. An adult should sleep for 7-9 hours a day. Researches are being done for decades, still there is no correct answer for why the dream occurs.
