  याद करो जब तुम घाटी के निकटवर्ती छोर पर थे और वे घाटी के दूरस्थ छोर पर थे और क़ाफ़िला तुमसे नीचे की ओर था । यदि तुम परस्पर समय निश्चित किए होते तो अनिवार्यतः तुम निश्चित समय पर न पहुँचते । किन्तु जो कुछ हुआ वह इसलिए कि अल्लाह उस बात का फ़ैसला कर दे, जिसका पूरा होना निश्चित था, ताकि जिसे विनष्ट होना हो, वह स्पष्ट प्रमाण देखकर ही विनष्ट हो और जिसे जीवित रहना हो वह स्पष्ट़ प्रमाण देखकर जीवित रहे । निस्संदेह अल्लाह भली - भाँति जानता, सुनता है

• And how many a city have We destroyed that exulted in their living! And yonder are their dwellings which have not been inhabited after them unless for a little while ; and verily We! We have been the inheritors.
  और हमने तो बहुतेरी बस्तियाँ बरबाद कर दी जो अपनी मइशत में बहुत इतराहट से बसर किया करती थीं - ये उन ही के घर हैं जो उनके बाद फिर आबाद नहीं हुए मगर बहुत कम और हम ही उनके वारिस हुए

• ” Pity is beautiful like the yonder moon that casts its spell in the sky, but is that the only enduring reality ?
  करुणा आकाश में इधर से उधर आंखमिचौनी खेलते चांद जैसी है - लेकिन क्या यही एक टिकी रहनेवाली सच्चाई है ?

• And unto Thamud We sent their brother, Salih He said: my people! worship Allah, no god ye have but He ; surely there hath come unto you an evidence from your Lord. yonder is the she - camel of Allah: a sign unto you ; so leave her alone, pasturing on Allah ' s earth, and touch her not with evil, lest there seize you a torment afflictive.
  और समूद की तरफ उनके भाई सालेह को रसूल बनाकर भेजा तो उन्होनें ऐ मेरी क़ौम ख़ुदा ही की इबादत करो और उसके सिवा कोई तुम्हारा माबूद नहीं है तुम्हारे पास तो तुम्हारे परवरदिगार की तरफ से वाज़ेए और रौशन दलील आ चुकी है ये ख़ुदा की भेजी हुई ऊँटनी तुम्हारे वास्ते एक मौजिज़ा है तो तुम लोग उसको छोड़ दो कि ख़ुदा की ज़मीन में जहाँ चाहे चरती फिरे और उसे कोई तकलीफ़ ना पहुंचाओ वरना तुम दर्दनाक अज़ाब में गिरफ्तार हो जाआगे

• So yonder are their houses overturned, for they did wrong. Verily, herein is a sign unto a people who know.
  ये बस उनके घर हैं कि उनकी नाफरमानियों की वज़ह से ख़ाली वीरान पड़े हैं इसमे शक नही कि उस वाक़िये में वाक़िफ कार लोगों के लिए बड़ी इबरत है

• And Fir ' awn proclaimed among his people, saying: O my people! is not mine the dominion of Mis and witness yonder rivers flowing underneath me ? See ye not ?
  फ़िरऔन ने अपनी क़ौम के बीच पुकारकर कहा," ऐ मेरी क़ौम के लोगो! क्या मिस्र का राज्य मेरा नहीं और ये मेरे नीचे बहती नहरें ? तो क्या तुम देखते नहीं ?

• He suddenly realises, like Hazlitt ' from the point of yonder rolling cloud, I plunge into my past being and revel there '.
