  तुम पूछो कि गवाही में सबसे बढ़के कौन चीज़ है तुम खुद ही कह दो कि मेरे और तुम्हारे दरमियान ख़ुदा गवाह है और मेरे पास ये क़ुरान वही के तौर पर इसलिए नाज़िल किया गया ताकि मैं तुम्हें और जिसे ख़बर पहुँचे उसके ज़रिए से डराओ क्या तुम यक़ीनन यह गवाही दे सकते हो कि अल्लाह के साथ और दूसरे माबूद भी हैं तुम कह दो कि मै तो उसकी गवाही नहीं देता तुम कहो कि वह तो बस एक ही ख़ुदा है और जिन चीज़ों को तुम शरीक बनाते हो

• Say to them: ' Call your witnesses to testify that Allah forbade such - and - such. ' Then if they do testify, neither testify with them nor follow the desires of those who have given the lie to Our signs and who do not believe in the Hereafter and set up equals with their Lord.
  फिर अगर वही चाहता तो तुम सबकी हिदायत करता तुम कह दो कि अपने गवाहों को लाकर हाज़िर करो जो ये गवाही दें कि ये चीज़े खुदा ही ने हराम कर दी हैं फिर अगर वह गवाही दे भी दे तो कहीं तुम उनके साथ गवाही न देना और जिन लोगों ने हमारी आयतों को झुठलाया और आख़िरत पर ईमान नहीं लाते और दूसरों को अपने परवरदिगार का हम सर बनाते है उनकी नफ़सियानी ख्वाहिशों पर न चलना

• Ask them to call their witness who will testify that God has made certain things unlawful. Even if they do testify, do not testify with them. Do not follow the desires of those who have rejected Our revelations and the pagans who do not believe in the Day of Judgment.
  कह दो," अपने उन गवाहों को लाओ, जो इसकी गवाही दें कि अल्लाह ने इसे हराम किया है ।" फिर यदि वे गवाही दें तो तुम उनके साथ गवाही न देना, औऱ उन लोगों की इच्छाओं का अनुसरण न करना जिन्होंने हमारी आयतों को झुठलाया और जो आख़िरत को नहीं मानते और हाल यह है कि वे दूसरो को अपने रब के समकक्ष ठहराते है

• If any of your women commit fornication, call in four male witnesses from among yourselves against them ; if they testify to their guilt, confine them to the house until death releases them or until God gives them another way out.
  और तुम्हारी स्त्रियों में से जो व्यभिचार कर बैठे, उनपर अपने में से चार आदमियों की गवाही लो, फिर यदि वे गवाही दे दें तो उन्हें घरों में बन्द रखो, यहाँ तक कि उनकी मृत्यु आ जाए या अल्लाह उनके लिए कोई रास्ता निकाल दे

  पत्ऩी से भी सज़ा को यह बात टाल सकती है कि वह चार बार अल्लाह की क़सम खाकर गवाही दे कि वह बिलकुल झूठा है
