• O believers, let not any people scoff at another people who may be better than they ; neither let women scoff at women who may be better than themselves. And find not fault with one another, neither revile one another by nicknames. An evil name is ungodliness after belief. And whoso repents not, those - - they are the evildoers.
  ऐ लोगो, जो ईमान लाए हो! न पुरुषों का कोई गिरोह दूसरे पुरुषों की हँसी उड़ाए, सम्भव है वे उनसे अच्छे हों और न स्त्रियाँ स्त्रियों की हँसी उड़ाए, सम्भव है वे उनसे अच्छी हों, और न अपनों पर ताने कसो और न आपस में एक - दूसरे को बुरी उपाधियों से पुकारो । ईमान के पश्चात अवज्ञाकारी का नाम जुडना बहुत ही बुरा है । और जो व्यक्ति बाज़ न आए, तो ऐसे ही व्यक्ति ज़ालिम है

• Indeed they have denied, so now soon coming upon them are the tidings of what they used to scoff at.
  उन लोगों ने झुठलाया ज़रुर तो अनक़रीब ही इस की हक़ीकत मालूम हो जाएगी जिसकी ये लोग हँसी उड़ाया करते थे

• For when their messengers came to them with Clear Signs, they exulted in such knowledge as they had ; but that very at which they were wont to scoff hemmed them in.
  फिर जब उनके पैग़म्बर उनके पास वाज़ेए व रौशन मौजिज़े ले कर आए तो जो इल्म उनके पास था उस पर नाज़िल हुए और जिस की ये लोग हँसी उड़ाते थे उसी ने उनको चारों तरफ से घेर लिया

• But never once an apostle came to them at whom they did not scoff.
  कोई भी रसूल उनके पास ऐसा नहीं आया, जिसका उन्होंने उपहास न किया हो

• And seek to scoff when they behold a portent.
