• But whoever has not the means, let him fast for two months successively before they touch each other ; then as for him who is not able, let him feed sixty needy ones ; that is in order that you may have faith in Allah and His Apostle, and these are Allah ' s limits, and the unbelievers shall have a painful punishment.
  किन्तु जिस किसी को ग़ुलाम प्राप्त न हो तो वह निरन्तर दो माह रोज़े रखे, इससे पहले कि वे दोनों एक - दूसरे को हाथ लगाएँ और जिस किसी को इसकी भी सामर्थ्य न हो तो साठ मुहताजों को भोजन कराना होगा । यह इसलिए कि तुम अल्लाह और उसके रसूल पर ईमानवाले सिद्ध हो सको । ये अल्लाह की निर्धारित की हुई सीमाएँ है । और इनकार करनेवाले के लिए दुखद यातना है

• Serve God, and associate naught with Him. Be kind to parents, and the near kinsman, and to orphans, and to the needy, and to the neighbour who is of kin, and to the neighbour who is a stranger, and to the companion at your side, and to the traveller, and to that your right hands own. Surely God loves not the proud and boastful
  और ख़ुदा ही की इबादत करो और किसी को उसका शरीक न बनाओ और मॉ बाप और क़राबतदारों और यतीमों और मोहताजों और रिश्तेदार पड़ोसियों और अजनबी पड़ोसियों और पहलू में बैठने वाले मुसाहिबों और पड़ोसियों और ज़र ख़रीद लौन्डी और गुलाम के साथ एहसान करो बेशक ख़ुदा अकड़ के चलने वालों और शेख़ीबाज़ों को दोस्त नहीं रखता

• nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy,
  तो आज न उसका कोई ग़मख्वार है

• The same also cannot be distributed as garments to the needy persons.
  वही जरूरतमंद व्यक्तियों को वस्त्र के रूप में वितरित नहीं किया जा सकता ।

• In order to reach the place of advantage for them, and to pronounce the name of God on appointed days over cattle He has given them for food ; then eat of the meat and feed the needy and the poor.
  ताकि अपने फायदो पर फायज़ हों और खुदा ने जो जानवर चारपाए उन्हें अता फ़रमाए उनपर चन्द मुअय्युन दिनों में खुदा का नाम लें तो तुम लोग कुरबानी के गोश्त खुद भी खाओ और भूखे मोहताज को भी खिलाओ

• For a specified number of days. But whoever among you is sick, or on a journey, then a number of other days. For those who are able: a ransom of feeding a needy person. But whoever volunteers goodness, it is better for him. But to fast is best for you, if you only knew.
  गिनती के चन्द रोज़ इस पर भी जो शख्स तुम में से बीमार हो या सफर में हो तो और दिनों में जितने क़ज़ा हुए हो गिन के रख ले और जिन्हें रोज़ा रखने की कूवत है और न रखें तो उन पर उस का बदला एक मोहताज को खाना खिला देना है और जो शख्स अपनी ख़ुशी से भलाई करे तो ये उस के लिए ज्यादा बेहतर है और अगर तुम समझदार हो तो रोज़ा रखना तुम्हारे हक़ में बहरहाल अच्छा है

• And let not those of virtue among you and wealth swear not to give to their relatives and the needy and the emigrants for the cause of Allah, and let them pardon and overlook. Would you not like that Allah should forgive you ? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
  तुममें जो बड़ाईवाले और सामर्थ्यवान है, वे नातेदारों, मुहताजों और अल्लाह की राह में घरबार छोड़नेवालों को देने से बाज़ रहने की क़सम न खा बैठें । उन्हें चाहिए कि क्षमा कर दें और उनसे दरगुज़र करें । क्या तुम यह नहीं चाहते कि अल्लाह तुम्हें क्षमा करें ? अल्लाह बहुत क्षमाशील, अत्यन्त दयावान है

• What Allah has bestowed on His Messenger from the people of the townships, - belongs to Allah, - to His Messenger and to kindred and orphans, the needy and the wayfarer ; In order that it may not make a circuit between the wealthy among you. So take what the Messenger assigns to you, and deny yourselves that which he withholds from you. And fear Allah ; for Allah is strict in Punishment.
  जो कुछ अल्लाह ने अपने रसूल की ओर बस्तियोंवालों से लेकर पलटाया वह अल्लाह और रसूल और नातेदार और अनाथों और मुहताजों और मुसाफ़िर के लिए है, ताकि वह तुम्हारे मालदारों ही के बीच चक्कर न लगाता रहे - रसूल जो कुछ तुम्हें दे उसे ले लो और जिस चीज़ से तुम्हें रोक दे उससे रुक जाओ, और अल्लाह का डर रखो । निश्चय ही अल्लाह की यातना बहुत कठोर है । -

• And may not those who possess superiority among you and possess capacity, swear not to give to the relatives and to the needy, and to immigrants in Allah ' s cause ; and they should forgive and forbear ; do you not like that Allah may forgive you ? And Allah is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.
  और तुममें से जो लोग ज्यादा दौलत और मुक़द्दर वालें है क़राबतदारों और मोहताजों और ख़ुदा की राह में हिजरत करने वालों को कुछ देने से क़सम न खा बैठें बल्कि उन्हें चाहिए कि माफ कर दें और दरगुज़र करें क्या तुम ये नहीं चाहते हो कि ख़ुदा तुम्हारी ख़ता माफ करे और खुदा तो बड़ा बख्शने वाला मेहरबान है

• And worship Allah and do not ascribe any partner to Him, and be good to parents, and to relatives, and orphans, and the needy, and the related neighbour and the unrelated neighbour, and the close companion and the traveller ; and your bondwomen ; indeed Allah does not like any boastful, proud person. –
