  मदीनावालों और उसके आसपास के बद्दूहओं को ऐसा नहीं चाहिए था कि अल्लाह के रसूल को छोड़कर पीछे रह जाएँ और न यह कि उसकी जान के मुक़ाबले में उन्हें अपनी जान अधिक प्रिय हो, क्योंकि वह अल्लाह के मार्ग में प्यास या थकान या भूख की कोई भी तकलीफ़ उठाएँ या किसी ऐसी जगह क़दम रखें, जिससे काफ़िरों का क्रोध भड़के या जो चरका भी वे शत्रु को लगाएँ, उसपर उनके हक में अनिवार्यतः एक सुकर्म लिख लिया जाता है । निस्संदेह अल्लाह उत्तमकार का कर्मफल अकारथ नहीं जाने देता

• I shall inflict on him hardship,
  तो मैं अनक़रीब उस सख्त अज़ाब में मुब्तिला करूँगा

  मैं उसे कठोर दंड दूँगा या उसे ज़बह ही कर डालूँगा या फिर वह मेरे सामने कोई स्पष्ट ॥ कारण प्रस्तुत करे ।"

  तो अगर हम तुमको ले भी जाएँ तो भी हमको उनसे बदला लेना ज़रूरी है

  और यदि उस तकलीफ़ के बाद, जो उसे पहुँची, हम उसे अपनी दयालुता का आस्वादन करा दें तो वह निश्चय ही कहेंगा," यह तो मेरा हक़ ही है । मैं तो यह नहीं समझता कि वह, क़ियामत की घड़ी, घटित होगी और यदि मैं अपने रब की ओर लौटाया भी गया तो अवश्य ही उसके पास मेरे लिए अच्छा पारितोषिक होगा ।" फिर हम उन लोगों को जिन्होंने इनकार किया, अवश्य बताकर रहेंगे, जो कुछ उन्होंने किया होगा । और हम उन्हें अवश्य ही कठोर यातना का मज़ा चखाएँगे

• And what more griefs to inflict on my ear.
  और मेरे कानों में कितनी और व्यथाएँ प्रविष्ट होंगी ?

• Say to the bedouins who were left behind: “ You will be called against those who possess great might and be asked to fight against them unless they surrender. If you obey, Allah will bestow upon you a goodly reward. But if you turn away, as you turned away before, He shall inflict upon you a grievous chastisement. ”
  कि जो गवॉर पीछे रह गए थे उनसे कह दो कि अनक़रीब ही तुम सख्त जंगजू क़ौम के बुलाए जाओगे कि तुम उनसे लड़ते ही रहोगे या मुसलमान ही हो जाएँगे पस अगर तुम हुक्म मानोगे तो ख़ुदा तुमको अच्छा बदला देगा और अगर तुमने जिस तरह पहली दफा सरताबी की थी अब भी सरताबी करोगे तो वह तुमको दर्दनाक अज़ाब की सज़ा देगा

  और याद करो जब तुम्हारे रब ने ख़बर कर दी थी कि वह क़ियामत के दिन तक उनके विरुद्ध ऐसे लोगों को उठाता रहेगा, जो उन्हें बुरी यातना देंगे । निश्चय ही तुम्हारा रब जल्द सज़ा देता है और वह बड़ा क्षमाशील, दावान भी है
