  ऐ ईमान लानेवालो! तुम्हें क्या हो गया है कि जब तुमसे कहा जाता है," अल्लाह के मार्ग में निकलो" तो तुम धरती पर ढहे जाते हो ? क्या तुम आख़िरत की अपेक्षा सांसारिक जीवन पर राज़ी हो गए ? सांसारिक जीवन की सुख - सामग्री तो आख़िरत के हिसाब में है कुछ थोड़ी ही!

  और उनके दिलों पर भी परदे डाल देते है कि वे समझ न सकें । और उनके कानों में बोझ । और जब तुम क़ुरआन के माध्यम से अपने रब का वर्णन उसे अकेला बताते हुए करते हो तो वे नफ़रत से अपनी पीठ फेरकर चल देते है

• And it is He Who has sent down water from the heavens, and thereby We have brought vegetation of every kind, and out of this We have brought forth green foliage and then from it close - packed ears of corn, and out of the palm - tree from the sheath of it - thick clustered dates, hanging down with heaviness, and gardens of vines, and the olive tree, and the pomegranate - all resembling one another and yet so different. Behold their fruit when they bear fruit and ripen! Surely, in all this there are signs for those who believe.
  और वह वही जिसने आसमान से पानी बरसाया फिर हम ही ने उसके ज़रिए से हर चीज़ के कोए निकालें फिर हम ही ने उससे हरी भरी टहनियाँ निकालीं कि उससे हम बाहम गुत्थे दाने निकालते हैं और छुहारे के बोर से लटके हुए गुच्छे पैदा किए और अंगूर और ज़ैतून और अनार के बाग़ात जो बाहम सूरत में एक दूसरे से मिलते जुलते और जुदा जुदा जब ये पिघले और पक्के तो उसके फल की तरफ ग़ौर तो करो बेशक अमन में ईमानदार लोगों के लिए बहुत सी निशानियाँ हैं

• And if We had sent this as a Quran in a foreign language other than Arabic, they would have said:" Why are not its Verses explained in detail ? What! not in Arabic and an Arab ?" Say:" It is for those who believe, a guide and a healing. And as for those who disbelieve, there is heaviness in their ears, and it is blindness for them. They are those who are called from a place far away.
  और अगर हम इस क़ुरान को अरबी ज़बान के सिवा दूसरी ज़बान में नाज़िल करते तो ये लोग ज़रूर कह न बैठते कि इसकी आयतें ज़बान में क्यों तफ़सीलदार बयान नहीं की गयी क्या अजमी और अरबी तुम कह दो कि ईमानदारों के लिए तो ये हिदायत और शिफ़ा है और जो लोग ईमान नहीं रखते उनके कानों में गिरानी है और वह उनके हक़ में नाबीनाई है तो गिरानी की वजह से गोया वह लोग बड़ी दूर की जगह से पुकारे जाते है

  और हम उनके कानों में गरानी पैदा कर देते हैं कि न सुन सकें जब तुम क़ुरान में अपने परवरदिगार का तन्हा ज़िक्र करते हो तो कुफ्फार उलटे पावँ नफरत करके भाग खड़े होते हैं

• And of them is he who hearkens to you, and We have cast veils over their hearts lest they understand it and a heaviness into their ears ; and even if they see every sign they will not believe in it ; so much so that when they come to you they only dispute with you ; those who disbelieve say: This is naught but the stories of the ancients.
  और उनमें कुछ लोग ऐसे है जो तुम्हारी ओर कान लगाते है, हालाँकि हमने तो उनके दिलों पर परदे डाल रखे है कि वे उसे समझ न सकें और उनके कानों में बोझ डाल दिया है । और वे चाहे प्रत्येक निशानी देख लें तब भी उसे मानेंगे नहीं ; यहाँ तक कि जब वे तुम्हारे पास आकर तुमसे झगड़ते है, तो अविश्वास की नीति अपनानेवाले कहते है," यह तो बस पहले को लोगों की गाथाएँ है ।"

• And when Our signs are recited to such a man he turns away, waxing proud, as though he heard them not, and in his ears were heaviness ; so give him good tidings of a painful chastisement.
  और जब उसके सामने हमारी आयतें पढ़ी जाती हैं तो शेख़ी के मारे मुँह फेरकर चल देता है गोया उसने इन आयतों को सुना ही नहीं जैसे उसके दोनो कानों में ठेठी है तो तुम उसको दर्दनाक अज़ाब की खुशख़बरी दे दे
