But when they are in wedlock, if they commit indecency, they shall be liable to half the chastisement of freewomen. That provision is for those of you who fear fornication ; yet it is better for you to be patient. God is All - forgiving, All - compassionate.
  और तुममें से जिस किसी की इतनी सामर्थ्य न हो कि पाकदामन, स्वतंत्र, ईमानवाली स्त्रियों से विवाह कर सके, तो तुम्हारी वे ईमानवाली जवान लौडियाँ ही सही जो तुम्हारे क़ब्ज़े में हो । और अल्लाह तुम्हारे ईमान को भली - भाँति जानता है । तुम सब आपस में एक ही हो, तो उनके मालिकों की अनुमति से तुम उनसे विवाह कर लो और सामान्य नियम के अनुसार उन्हें उनका हक़ भी दो । वे पाकदामनी की सुरक्षा करनेवाली हों, स्वच्छन्द काम - तृप्ति न करनेवाली हों और न वे चोरी - छिपे ग़ैरो से प्रेम करनेवाली हों । फिर जब वे विवाहिता बना ली जाएँ और उसके पश्चात कोई अश्लील कर्म कर बैठें, तो जो दंड सम्मानित स्त्रियों के लिए है, उसका आधा उनके लिए होगा । यह तुममें से उस व्यक्ति के लिए है, जिसे ख़राबी में पड़ जाने का भय हो, और यह कि तुम धैर्य से काम लो तो यह तुम्हारे लिए अधिक अच्छा है । निस्संदेह अल्लाह बहुत क्षमाशील, दयावान है

• And they who do not call upon another god with Allah and do not slay the soul, which Allah has forbidden except in the requirements of justice, and do not commit fornication and he who does this shall find a requital of sin ;
  जो अल्लाह के साथ किसी दूसरे इष्ट - पूज्य को नहीं पुकारते और न नाहक़ किसी जीव को जिस को अल्लाह ने हराम किया है, क़त्ल करते है । और न वे व्यभिचार करते है - जो कोई यह काम करे तो वह गुनाह के वबाल से दोचार होगा

• And approach not fornication ; surely it is an indecency, and evil as a way.
  और ज़िना के पास भी न फटकना क्योंकि बेशक वह बड़ी बेहयाई का काम है और बहुत बुरा चलन है

  आज तमाम पाकीज़ा चीजें तुम्हारे लिए हलाल कर दी गयी हैं और अहले किताब की ख़ुश्क चीजें ग़ेहूं तुम्हारे लिए हलाल हैं और तुम्हारी ख़ुश्क चीजें ग़ेहूं उनके लिए हलाल हैं और आज़ाद पाक दामन औरतें और उन लोगों में की आज़ाद पाक दामन औरतें जिनको तुमसे पहले किताब दी जा चुकी है जब तुम उनको उनके मेहर दे दो पाक दामिनी का इरादा करो न तो खुल्लम खुल्ला ज़िनाकारी का और न चोरी छिपे से आशनाई का और जिस शख्स ने ईमान से इन्कार किया तो उसका सब किया अकारत हो गया और आख़ेरत में भी वही घाटे में रहेगा

• Those of your women who commit fornication, let four witness testify to their act. If there is sufficient testimony, confine them to their homes until they die, or until God provides a way for their freedom.
  और तुम्हारी स्त्रियों में से जो व्यभिचार कर बैठे, उनपर अपने में से चार आदमियों की गवाही लो, फिर यदि वे गवाही दे दें तो उन्हें घरों में बन्द रखो, यहाँ तक कि उनकी मृत्यु आ जाए या अल्लाह उनके लिए कोई रास्ता निकाल दे

• Let no man guilty of adultery or fornication marry and but a woman similarly guilty, or an Unbeliever: nor let any but such a man or an Unbeliever marry such a woman: to the Believers such a thing is forbidden.
  ज़िना करने वाला मर्द तो ज़िना करने वाली औरत या मुशरिका से निकाह करेगा और ज़िना करने वाली औरत भी बस ज़िना करने वाले ही मर्द या मुशरिक से निकाह करेगी और सच्चे ईमानदारों पर तो इस क़िस्म के ताल्लुक़ात हराम हैं

• Also forbidden are married women, except those who have passed into your hands as prisoners of war. This is a commandment of God to you. All women other than these are lawful to you, provided you seek them with your wealth in honest wedlock, not in fornication. When you consummate your marriage with them, give the dowers due to them. And there is no sin for you in what you do by mutual agreement after the fixing of the dower. God is all knowing and wise.
  और विवाहित स्त्रियाँ भी वर्जित है, सिवाय उनके जो तुम्हारी लौंडी हों । यह अल्लाह ने तुम्हारे लिए अनिवार्य कर दिया है । इनके अतिरिक्त शेष स्त्रियाँ तुम्हारे लिए वैध है कि तुम अपने माल के द्वारा उन्हें प्राप्त करो उनकी पाकदामनी की सुरक्षा के लिए, न कि यह काम स्वच्छन्द काम - तृप्ति के लिए हो । फिर उनसे दाम्पत्य जीवन का आनन्द लो तो उसके बदले उनका निश्चित किया हुए हक़ अदा करो और यदि हक़ निश्चित हो जाने के पश्चात तुम आपम में अपनी प्रसन्नता से कोई समझौता कर लो, तो इसमें तुम्हारे लिए कोई दोष नहीं । निस्संदेह अल्लाह सब कुछ जाननेवाला, तत्वदर्शी है

• Do not even approach fornication for it is an outrageous act, and an evil way.
  और ज़िना के पास भी न फटकना क्योंकि बेशक वह बड़ी बेहयाई का काम है और बहुत बुरा चलन है

• If any of you cannot afford to marry a free believing woman let him marry one of his believing maids whom he possesses. God best knows your faith. You are one of another. So marry them with their owner ' s permission, and give them their dower according to what is fair, neither committing fornication nor taking secret paramours. And if, after they are married, they commit adultery they shall have half the punishment prescribed for a free woman. This is for those of you who fear lest he should fall into sin. But that it is better for you to practise self restraint. God is most forgiving and merciful.
