• The similitude of the life of the world is only as water which We send down from the sky, then the earth ' s growth of that which men and cattle eat mingleth with it till, when the earth hath taken on her ornaments and is embellished, and her people deem that they are masters of her, Our commandment cometh by night or by day and We make it as reaped corn as if it had not flourished yesterday. Thus do we expound the revelations for people who reflect.
  दुनियावी ज़िदगी की मसल तो बस पानी की सी है कि हमने उसको आसमान से बरसाया फिर ज़मीन के साग पात जिसको लोग और चौपाए खा जाते हैं अपना बनाओ सिंगार कर लिया और आरास्ता हो गई और खेत वालों ने समझ लिया कि अब वह उस पर यक़ीनन क़ाबू पा गए यकायक हमारा हुक्म व अज़ाब रात या दिन को आ पहुँचा तो हमने उस खेत को ऐसा साफ कटा हुआ बना दिया कि गोया कुल उसमें कुछ था ही नहीं जो लोग ग़ौर व फिक्र करते हैं उनके वास्ते हम आयतों को यूँ तफसीलदार बयान करते है

• a Messenger who rehearses to you Allah ' s verses that clearly expound the Guidance so that He may bring out those that believe and act righteously, from every kind of darkness into light. He will admit whosoever believes in Allah and acts righteously to Gardens beneath which rivers flow. They shall abide in them forever. For such has Allah made an excellent provision.
  एक रसूल जो तुम्हें अल्लाह की स्पष्ट आयतें पढ़कर सुनाता है, ताकि वह उन लोगों को, जो ईमान लाए और उन्होंने अच्छे कर्म किए, अँधेरों से निकालकर प्रकाश की ओर ले आए । जो कोई अल्लाह पर ईमान लाए और अच्छा कर्म करे, उसे वह ऐसे बाग़़ों में दाख़िल करेगा जिनके नीचे नहरें बह रही होगी - ऐसे लोग उनमें सदैव रहेंगे - अल्लाह ने उनके लिए उत्तम रोज़ी रखी है

• We have sent down to you Revelations that clearly expound the Truth, and none but the disobedient reject them.
  और हमने तुम पर ऐसी निशानियाँ नाज़िल की हैं जो वाजेए और रौशन हैं और ऐसे नाफरमानों के सिवा उनका कोई इन्कार नहीं कर सकता

• Thus do We expound the revelations that the way of the unrighteous may be manifest.

• There is no harm if the blind, the lame, the sick or you yourselves eat in your own houses, or in the houses of your fathers, or mothers, or brothers, or sisters, or paternal uncles, or paternal aunts, or maternal uncles, or maternal aunts, or in those that you are in charge of or in the house of a friend. There is no objection to your eating together or separately. But when you enter houses, salute one another with a greeting of peace, a greeting from your Lord full of blessings and purity. Thus does God expound to you His commandments, so that you may understand.
  इस बात में न तो अंधे आदमी के लिए मज़ाएक़ा है और न लँगड़ें आदमी पर कुछ इल्ज़ाम है - और न बीमार पर कोई गुनाह है और न ख़ुद तुम लोगो पर कि अपने घरों से खाना खाओ या अपने बाप दादा नाना बग़ैरह के घरों से या अपनी माँ दादी नानी वगैरह के घरों से या अपने भाइयों के घरों से या अपनी बहनों के घरों से या अपने चचाओं के घरों से या अपनी फूफ़ियों के घरों से या अपने मामूओं के घरों से या अपनी खालाओं के घरों से या उस घर से जिसकी कुन्जियाँ तुम्हारे हाथ में है या अपने दोस्तों से इस में भी तुम पर कोई इल्ज़ाम नहीं कि सब के सब मिलकर खाओ या अलग अलग फिर जब तुम घर वालों में जाने लगो तो ख़ुद अपने ही ऊपर सलाम कर लिया करो जो ख़ुदा की तरफ से एक मुबारक पाक व पाकीज़ा तोहफा है - ख़ुदा यूँ एहकाम तुमसे साफ साफ बयान करता है ताकि तुम समझो

• The example of the life of this world is that of water that We sent down from the heaven which causes the vegetation of the earth, which sustains men and cattle, to grow luxuriantly. But when the earth took on its golden raiment and became well adorned and the owners believed that they had full control over their lands Our command came upon them by night or by day, and We convened it into a stubble, as though it had not blossomed yesterday. Thus do We expound the signs for a people who reflect.
  सांसारिक जीवन की उपमा तो बस ऐसी है जैसे हमने आकाश से पानी बरसाया, तो उसके कारण धरती से उगनेवाली चीज़े, जिनको मनुष्य और चौपाये सभी खाते है, घनी हो गई, यहाँ तक कि धरती ने अपना शृंगार कर लिया और सँवर गई और उसके मालिक समझने लगे कि उन्हें उसपर पूरा अधिकार प्राप्त है कि रात या दिन में हमारा आदेश आ पहुँचा । फिर हमने उसे कटी फ़सल की तरह कर दिया, मानो कल वहाँ कोई आबादी ही न थी । इसी तरह हम उन लोगों के लिए खोल - खोलकर निशानियाँ बयान करते है, जो सोच - विचार से काम लेना चाहें

• And recall what time Allah took a bond from those who were vouchsafed the Book: ye shall surely expound it to the people and ye shall hide it not ; whereafter they cast it behind their backs, and bartered it for a small price. Vile is that wherewith they have bartered.
  याद करो जब अल्लाह ने उन लोगों से, जिन्हें किताब प्रदान की गई थी, वचन लिया था कि" उसे लोगों के सामने भली - भाँति स्पट् करोगे, उसे छिपाओगे नहीं ।" किन्तु उन्होंने उसे पीठ पीछे डाल दिया और तुच्छ मूल्य पर उसका सौदा किया । कितना बुरा सौदा है जो ये कर रहे है
