INDIA, the largest democracy in the world which means the country is ruled by its citizens. In present it seems like this so called definition of democracy is just a bookish line which sounds beautiful when read but has no meaning when it is closed. Now the definition is manipulated according to the self profitable desires of politics and politicians. Citizens are just treated like vote bank not like rulers.

On other hand India is also young country where:
·50% of population is below the age of 25.
·More than 65% is below the age of 35.
It is expected that by 2020 the average age of India will be 29 years. For Japan it is expected 48 years its average age by 2020. There is a big difference in ages and so is in development. Japan sees its youth as an opportunity for development of nation but here youth are just the largest section of society who are in a queue to be exploited by politicians for their personal benefits.

Due to bad situation of education system, self thinking capability and decision making quality is decreasing in youth. They want someone to tell them what to do next or what’s right or wrong for them. This is the loop hole which becomes a reason for youth’s exploitation by politics.

Only elections period is the time when power of youth’s vote is considered. To get their votes promises are made and manifesto are launched. If a person could try to think intellectually he/she would discover the truth and intensions behind these promises and manifestos. They never try to give or increase proper opportunity which can help an individual as well as nation; instead they promise them to give incentives on a regular basis without doing any work. It’s just like giving people a lollipop. But this promise of theirs also turns out to be hollow after elections.

It is high time for every youth of this country to think in which direction they would try to take their nation and whom they choose their representative as. Youth symbolizes energy and power, so if this youth makes up their mind to bring about a change within the system then there is no power which could stop them.

So for the upcoming elections everyone should caste a vote to a person who could really bring about a change in the lives of his countrymen. Whenever an election arrives it is our youth’s responsibility to:

·Spread awareness about voting power of a person.
·Study the manifestos of political parties.
·Know about the quality of work done by ruling govt. in last 5 years.
·Know what promises are being made.
·Know if any politician is using unfair means to win elections.
This country is not for a single person to be ruled. Everyone has right to call this nation as theirs. Don’t ever take your rights for granted, if you don’t stand for yourself and your nation then no one else will. Always know,

YOUR VOTE, YOUR RIGHT..!
