Sunny Leone - Journey From Adult Movie To Bollywood

There have been many celebrities on International as well as on Indian film industry who has owned love of the audiences but there is something really exceptional with the former adult-star Sunny Leone. Her actual name is Karenjit Kaur Vohra. She was born on 13 May, 1981 in Sarnia in the state of Ontario, Canada in a Punjabi family. Her father, who was born in Tibet, and her mother was from Himachal Pradesh. She along her family relocated to California, United States when she was just 13 years old, then a year later, again moved to Lake Forest, California where they lived with her grandparents. Though she was from a Sikh family, she went to Catholic school. She was good at her academics and sports.

Sunny worked at a German Bakery for about a year and then later she worked at a tax and retirement firm. She took her stage name, 'Sunny Leone' before she started working in the adult industry. Then she joined the porn industry at the age of 19 where she became a known porn star with her fan base having from all over the world. In 2010, she was adjudged as one of the 12 top female stars in porn by leading men's magazine, Maxim. Before joining the adult film industry she was studying to be a pediatric nurse. Sunny Leone's first mainstream appearance on TV was in 2005 where she worked as a red carpet reporter for MTV India. Then she was seen in the movie The Girl Next Door with a cameo role. While she was having her documentary on Fox Channel, she said that she was willing to work in Bollywood movie. Her career took a U-turn after she participated in Big Boss season 5 in 2011. After Big Boss, she started getting offers from Bollywood and she debut her Bollywood career from her 1st movie Jism 2 in 2012. After that, she did an item dance in the movie Shootout at Wadala in 2013. The Bollywood movies that she did are Jackpot (2013), Ragini MMS 2 (2014), Hate Story 2 (2014), Ek Paheli Leela (2015), Kuch Kuch Locha Hai (2015), Dongri Ka Raja (2016), Mostly Sunny (2016), Beiimaan Love (2016), One Night Stand (2016), Tera Intezaar (2017), Baadshaho (2017), Raees (2017). In addition to Hindi, she has done item numbers in Marathi, Bengali, and all south Indian language films as well. Also she made her debut in the Telugu film by doing a cameo in Current Theega where she played the role of a school teacher.

Sunny Leone is married to her former adult movies co-star and her current manager, Daniel Weber. The two met through common friends and soon started dating each other. She has performed on her own biopic movie“Karenjit Kaur – The Untold Story of Sunny Leone”, directed by Aditya Dutt and written by Karan Sharma. The movie is divided into 16 seasons that reveals her history, family, boyfriend-turned-husband Daniel Weber and shows facts about her transformation from an adult film star to a popular mainstream actress in Hollywood, Bollywood.

Sunny Leone and her husband Daniel Weber are now parents of three children. First they adopted a baby girl and named her Nisha Kaur Weber. And recently again they welcomed two little boys Asher Singh Weber and Noah Singh Weber via Surrogacy.
