Like everybody else even I was excited for my college. I had a mixed feeling in my mind about the college.First three days went in the orientation and welcoming of students. The actual thing started from the next week. We had our classes at 8 am. I and my friends used to get ready at7:30 am in the first week because we had our classes 10 minutes away from our hostel. VIT University is one of the college having huge campus. There’s a railway track passing through the campus. On the first day, we used Google maps for searching our blocks. The weirdest thing was that on the second day we had our first lecture in the block which was pole apart from our hostel and it takes 20 minutes from hostel to reach that block. In the first week we realized VIT is very tiring. Then somehow we got used to it. But the most confusing thing in VIT is you will never see any senior ragging the junior rather you will see seniors and juniors hanging out together. All day you will see is students walking or running to their classes.
VIT University has two fests; one in September month which is a tech-fest and other fest in February which is cultural fest. In the month of September, VIT organizes a tech-fest known as GRAVITAS which is four days duration and all the works are done and organized by seniors. It has technical as well as non-technical events in which students take part. These are the only four days when students can take rest. In the month of November first semester ends but before that we have something called FFCS ( Fully Flexible Credit System) in which student have to select their own timetable, teachers and subjects also. It all depends on your luck and internet connection to get a perfect timetable. First semester exams ends and second semester starts. On the first day you realize you have different classmates for all the lectures. You will see seniors in your class and there are chances you will also find people from other branches too. In the month of February there is a cultural fest known as RIVIERA which is really exciting and full of enjoyment. Again in the next month we have room counseling for the next year and this is the time you realize first year has come to an end. In the month of april, we have second semester final exams and before going home we have to shift all our luggages in the block in which we will be staying next year. This way first year ended and we all finally came back home.
