When we think food, we think ‘Maa ke haath ka khana’. But admit it, craving for our beloved street food is a part and parcel of being a true Indian. If you think this is The Most relatable thing you’ve ever read, then you should head to our capital - maybe also our food capital - Delhi. A foodie’s absolute paradise, Delhi is known for its astounding street food that’ll make you drool! As soon as you step out of the airport, or the train station, aromas of a wide variety of street food will surely drag you towards their respective stalls. Be it Murari’s Chole Kulche, or the famous Kake di Hatti, these palatable local food are sure going to make you go like ‘Bhaiya, aur ek plate bana do’. I’ve had a beautiful plate of kachoris, and believe me, they sure know how to make their kachoris in a way that’ll make you ask for more!

As you walk around the capital and view the structural marvels it offers, you’re sure to have a rumbling stomach by noon. Of course you’ll spot a local street food stall somewhere in the beautiful alleys of Delhi. No, you don’t have to go online and go through reviews of the food Rajasthan Kachoriwala or any of the thousand stalls offer. Trust the cool dude who should’ve probably earned a phD in making kachoris or whatever he offers for a price that wouldn’t ever dare burn a hole in your pocket. And oh! Are you the typical Indian who craves for something sweet after a dish of amazingly chatpata food? Well then Delhi’s got your back! Head a little further and you’re bound to find a garma garam Jalebi stall, where a man stands frying his deft pieces of artwork. You’ll definitely ask for more, and more, and more, until your partner nudges your tummy and asks you to stop. I bet you’ll secretly plan to visit the stall again - and this time you’ll want to come without your partner.

Delhi stuns you with its wide range of street food. The Rajma Chawal will remind you of home, and the paneer pakoda will make you go ‘lajawab!’. It is mandatory (almost) to try the golgappas here. Needless to say, the street food in Delhi will make you all the more proud of being an Indian, and your tastebuds will essentially turn desi. So if you call yourself a foodie, pack your bag and head to Delhi, and I bet you’ll have a delhi-cious time!
