Study Time

Legend has it that Morning is the ideal time to study. Study according to your mood. If you do not feel better at sometime then don't do that task, as it will only waste your time.

“The morning has gold in its mouth.”

"Lose an hour in the morning, and you will spend all day looking for it." - Richard Whately

Room Atmosphere/Environment

Try to avoid reading in the Bedroom, Kitchen, Living room, et cetera. The primary function of all those rooms is not ‘STUDYING.’

“Sirens calling sailors to the rocks.”

It's you who calls distraction, if you are not going yourself to be get distracted then no one can distract you, and that's the fact. Best place to study is in the library and if you don't find any then make your own.

It's the same thing as lights are put mainly on a screen and your all focus is on that. So, there’s no point of distractions. And you don't want to get disturbed. Using a study lamp for studying is as safe surfing in normal seawater. Now choose a quiet place, turn your neck away from Bed or Dining Table, and study under the light of the study lamp; use earplugs otherwise!

Concepts vs. Facts

Concepts once developed will stay with you a lifetime. You can supplement ideas with facts later. Henceforth, build your concepts so strong. The best way to learn is to teach someone as it strengthens your concepts and builds learning capacity in you. If you’re an introvert or if you choose self-study then ‘Teach an Empty Chair.’

“If you can’t put the concept in your words, you don’t understand it, it’s not meaningful to you,” says Marty Lobdell

Recognize vs. Remember

One more critical point is trying to recall what you read and what you learn as when you recall those points it will give you some boost. In another case, if you can recognize facts when you see the same thing for the next time, it shows that you’re not remembering the events but recognizing!

Remembering helps in Written exam or during Personal Interviews!

Active Reading vs. Passive Reading

Active reading: visualize, understand, and co-relate while you read something. BODY PRESENT! MIND PRESENT!

You must use highlighters and other different things as once you use them you develop the habit of using them and when you read in your exam time, it will help you a lot.

On the other hand, when you’ve get to the end of the page of assigned reading, and realized that you have no idea what you just read then it’s Passive Reading. Skimming is involved in this process.
