Ageneration gapis a difference of opinions and thinking between one generation and the other regarding beliefs, thoughs, or values.

Every generation developes a new slang, but due to the development of technology, understanding gaps have widened beingn the older and younger generations.

The main reason behind the generation gap is the lack of time to communicate and understand each other inside the family members.

Another reason is: the technology in 21stcentury has been completely changed now, as compared to that it was in the 19thcentury . The strength of understanding and grabbing this new technology is comparably easy for the newer generation than older.

Next reason of generation gap is the increased competition among people in variety of areas like in education and professional life. This makes people so involved in their own life that they don’t even get time for their loved ones and they just make their world idolated from others.

We feel happy than our forefathers.
Our forefathers became the victims of illiteracy, ignorance and superstitions.
Ignorance may mean bliss, but this is the bliss of intellectual non-existence or mental blankness.
We have become literate and educated today.
We are known to many secrets of nature which were unknown to our forefathers.
We always experience an intellectual thrill whenever we acquire more and more knowledge. We have got rid of superstitions and imaginary fears up to an extent, and also we are no any more victims of a sense of fatalism.

If we come to the topic of wealth, it is today more equitably distributed than before. Socialistic trends have narrowed the gap between the rich and the poor in today's world. In the past days of our forefathers, poverty was regarded as part of the divine scheme of things and was passively accepted by the people.

But today, Honesty and integrity have became things of the past. Now there is a mad scramble for money and power everywhere.

At the times of our ancestors, the difficulties, disappointments and failures were attributed to God's will and they bowed in front of him without much questioning. But now those spiritual beliefs have gone. We now think if life has any purpose at all. We are now feeling confused and perplexed.

In times of distress or misfortune religious faith used to be a great prop to human beings in older days. The belief that whatever God did was for the good of human beings served as a great-consolation to people of older times when a natural calamity fell upon them.

The decline in religious faith has led also to the loss of the spiritual values in the life. Our forefathers had qualities like ideality in charity, sympathy, fellow-feeling, brotherhood of man, and many more. Nowadays people have become utterly materialistic and pleasure minded. Everyone today wants to make as much money as possible by fair means or foul.

Physical comforts have gone up today. Scientific inventions of our times have made the life easier by greatly diminishing the need for manual labour or physical exertion. We have more leisure and along with that leisure we have many more sources of pleasure. Physical comfort, leisure and pleasure have surely increased human happiness.

The transitions from each level of the lifespan development have remained the same throughout history. They have all shared the same basic milestones in their journey from childhood, through midlife and into retirement.

Each and every person, whether of any age, has its own area of interest with different principles and values. It is now our responsibility that how much we get involved into it with making balance between our personal and social life that is also as much important as any other thing in life. People of old age have their own experience in their lives and it is the liability of new generation to learn the essence of life from their old generation.

Lack of communication is the biggest reason for generation gap. Thus firstly, members in a family should decide to spend time with each other either on the dining table, so that they can connect with each other and try to understand other’s area of interest including their moral and social values. New Generation should offer respect and value their elders by following his or her culture and traditions. On the other side old generation should also try to connect with their young generation and their preferences to make compatibility with each other.
