A food journey around the city of Joy.

Kolkata is brimming with energy. It is restless day and night and above all, it is filled with bent street corners hidden away in busy streets and shabby walls where you can get a taste of the city. I’m here to show you a food affair and a city which has transformed into heaven for food bloggers.

So, let me show you a few delicacies of new and old Calcutta, from north to south, from Zakaria street to China town, from savory to dessert.

Ready for a Kolkata food walk?Kolkata food bloggers keep your pens ready for I'm about to take you on a journey of Kolkata food and culture in search for Kolkata’s authentic food.

1. Zakaria Street

In the month of Ramzan if you pass by Zakaria Street make sure you stop by to hog on all the kebabs, the sweets and more.

Suta Kebabs

Sweet bread ( above ) and HALEEM ( below )

2. FLURYS PARK STREET
Standing erect in all its grandeur since 1927 is the heritage Flurys. Generation after generation has seen its minimal change in both its appearance and its menu. The Christmas décor, the checkered floors, the smell of pastry and the hushed voices sipping tea are like turning back the pages of history.

It is famous for its pastries and its known English platter. Breakfast at Flurys is a must if you’re in Kolkata even for a day.

3. RABINDRA SADAN

Nandan is Kolkata’s hub of culture, art, film, and music. You can find painters, poets, and musicians all under the same roof trying to make a living with their art.

This is also where you can find some of the best typical Kolkata delicacies like jhal muri, papri chat, phuchka and more. But here I’ll tell you guys about something different, a little less known and bit more unique around the streets of Kolkata. This is Kolkata street food at its best.

In a stall near Bhawanipur college in Sadan, there is a small shack which sells...
Lo and behold
Fried Oreos.
