Turned 20? Oh! your mid-life crisis is here. With each passing year, you move into a different realm of life and every age group has it's own pros and cons. 20 years is very close to adulthood but few of us have still not moved out of the shell. Everyone wants to go back to the days of playing with friends, watching Tom and Jerry and staying back at home. Since everything is not in our hands we have to learn to live with it.
10 Great things that I found about being 20 are :
1. No, you’re not technically a teenager anymore, but your friends will still see you as the same vibrant, full-of-energy young person you were yesterday.
2. You’re still one year away from becoming a real, official grown-up who’s responsible for bills, decision-making, and all of the other pressures that come with adulthood. Enjoy being 20 and carefree, while you still can.
3. You have an entire decade before you have to go through your 30-year-old, real mid-life crisis.
4.You have no one to take care of but yourself. Learn to love yourself before seeking love from others.
5. You can make mistakes and learn from them.
6. Whether you like it or not, you are independent.
7. There is time to reflect and be alone if you wish. Either you end up becoming a social media butterfly or start cutting down contacts because you feel you have better things to do in life.
8. Life is always moving at a fun and fast pace. You believe it or not but ever since college happens life does change.
9. You meet some several people and this age and you have to decide who stays and who has to go. You change your attitude changes and believe me the ones you meet in college will stay with you Forever in highs and lows!
10.No real commitments. If you have one, it’s usually by choice. No intentions of hurting any of my friends who are really happy in the relationship that they have . 20 years go parallel to No strings attached for most of us.
With this comes many other cons where reality actually hits you and You do not know what to do next. That's when we get to actually test ourselves and be patient while dealing with problems. And where Age is just a number comes into the picture!
1. You don't have money to actually save. Once you take into account treating yo self, traveling and putting money towards things like moving out and bills, you don’t have that much money left for anything else. You go between feeling like a baller to feeling broke in no time at all.
2. You’ll still feel the same as you did at the age of 18
Everyone tells you-you're an adult now and you’re expected to act like one. But no matter how far into your 20s you are, you will continue to feel no older than your 18-year-old self.
3. Started from the bottom now we’re… still at the bottom
Finding out your career path means a lot of unpaid internships and starting out in low-level positions. A lot of hard work goes into pursuing your dream career so it can often mean you end up neglecting other parts of your life. It’s tough and there’s no guarantee there will be a grad job at the end of it all. Can’t we just skip ahead to the part where we land the dream job?
4. It’s hard to admit you still need your parents and get homesick on every third day. Whether that’s help with money or general house stuff that you have no idea about, your 20s is a stage where you’re still learning how to properly adult. Having your own space means you’ll actually form a better relationship with your parents (and hopefully they won’t mind coming over to help out every now and then).
Do not forget to live life and no matter how many problems you are going through. Eat a lot of Pizza's, Drink an extra shot of vodka, go to parties, date people, get to know people and live life king size! Because Time once gone doesn't come back.
