You Will Learn To Love You

When I was 14, I was once asked that, how long would it take to name my own self, if they question me about the things and people I love.

Let’s just say, at that time, my name was nowhere near that list, not even at the bottom. During my teenage, I used to find fault in everything of mine. Be it about my grades, my personality, my looks every damn thing. In simple words, I used to suffer from inferiority complex.

Years Of Persistence

It took me years to get out of that zone. Precisely 10 years. In this long process, what I have realized is that it’s not easy to love your own self. In fact, sometimes it is the most difficult job to do. At that time I believe that you must ask yourself the million-dollar question. If you don’t love and accept your own self, how can you expect the same thing for yourself from others?

If you don’t take care of yourself, no one else will. Let’s face it everyone is busy with their own battles. You need to break those shackles that have chained you and it can be only done by you. It is true that you are imperfect but so is everyone else in this world. It may take years to reach the end of this not so easy journey, but, it’s gonna be worth it.

The Love You Deserve

The world is obsessed with perfection, because of that we seem to forget to realize our self-worth. You know, the qualities that you have, maybe someone else desires for it. You are special and that’s the fact, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Don’t be hard on yourself. Love yourself, listen to your voice. That voice is going to take you to places, that are gonna change your life. Remember, the affection you pour on others, you deserve the same from your own self.

You know what I have realized, the world that claims to be flawless, is not flawless at all, actually, it’s far from that. I am still learning to love myself and who knows, it might take another ten years of mine. What’s important is that starting the journey and believing that you are going to get to the end of it. So ask yourself, how long would you take to name yourself, if I ask about the people and the things that you love?
