Just like you even I overlooked her. I didn’t notice her standing there with a nervous look. Like you, even I didn’t notice her smile. Even I didn’t give her a second look. She wasn’t the obvious kind of beauty, you see. She wasn’t the one that could make your head turn around. Her hair was the darkest shade of brown, just like everyone else. She was so ordinary. Such an everyday girl. But oh boy was I wrong?

When I first met her, I never thought I would get to know her. But ever since I did, I haven’t regretted a minute of it.They say there is more to people than the looks they offer and her beauty intensify as you get to know her. I don’t know how I didn’t see that she had the most beautiful smile in the whole damn world. So contagious that you can’t help but smile with her. I must have been blind not to see that her eyes are so generic yet they speak more than her mouth does. Once you look deep into it you have to force yourself out of it. They might be dark brown in colour but the way they shine in sunlight is enchanting. Her simple looking hair is so soft and silky that you don’t wanna stop playing with them. Her ordinary shaped lips, seem to hide her darkest secrets with a damned smile. Her skin, it doesn’t glow but is softer than silk. It might not be flawless but her each scar seem to tell a story no one had the privilege to know. She is not the obvious kind of beauty. She is like that song you hear for the first time and like the tone of it. Eventually you start listening to it more often. You get the hang of it. You understand the lyrics and before you know it, you’re in love with the song. She is that song. You have to get to know her to see through the façade she puts up. Those who know her would say she does this on purpose, hiding from the world what she has to offer. Maybe she does that to protect herself from the wrong ones. I haven’t seen someone be so ordinarily beautiful. Her beauty is not restricted just to her looks, it goes deeper. Her inner self is even more engaging. She doesn’t believe it but she has so much in her.

Maybe people wronged her, hence shaping her how she is now. She struggled to accept herself, to love herself but once she did, she was unstoppable. All that you face in your life makes you the person you are today. Some experience leaves scars, some were just enough to make you realise something. But every scar you get, is like a trophy on the wall. Be proud of what you face. Embrace yourself. Falling in love with yourself is ten times more beautiful than it is when you fall for someone else.
