"To an uneducated A is just three sticks"

The above quotation has been stated by A.A Milne and this is very true if we consider the case of India. Illiteracy not only oppresses the life of an individual but also hampers the development and growth of the country. People with low or negligent level of knowledge are not only a liability for the country but also a social stigma that needs to uprooted from the society.

In a way child labor, poverty and illiteracy are interconnected with each other. If you see into depths, then you can identify the connection. The head into this web is poverty which leads to child labor and ultimately leading to illiteracy.

Now lets us talk about some technical facts which are related to illiteracy:

A person aged seven and above, who can both read and write with understanding in any language, is treated as literate.

The following are the most frequent causes of illiteracy in adults:

·Parents with little schooling;

·Lack of books at home and lack of stimulation as to the importance of reading;

·Doing badly at or dropping out of school—many have not completed high school;

·Difficult living conditions, including poverty;

·Learning disabilities, such as dyslexia, dysorthographia, etc.

There are huge numbers of children, not least among them orphans and street children, who never get the chance to go to school at all.

What we do:

·Building a partner network

·Innovation programs

·Awareness campaigns

Nothing ends in this world but these social stigma needs to be abolished and you know what, if we are the cause of this then we can be the only solution to this problem. But how?

Just simply being a part of an awareness program or campaign, no think deep and then take step because many people are at verge of something dangerous that might destroy the lives of many.
