A Brief note on Shankar Nag for those who doesn't know him (Iam sorry about that-_-)

People who have watched movies from 80's till now 2019 can relate to this article.
The Missing x factor is not only in Kannada film industry, it's about whole Indian Film Industry.

It's been 29 years,Shankar Nag has left us forever. At present industry has grown into colossal platform. Many debut filmmakers have given their integrity to the World of Cinema.

The pattern of story telling is changing day by day which is commendable.
The producers have made up their mind to encourage humongous investment to scripts. As a result the industry is growing big & better.

Fans missing x factor of Nag....!!

Its true that there is lot of good things happening in the industry but it's also true that fans are missing x factor of Nag.

Shankar Nag was not an Everyday director!

He was an Unique & Ace director.

where he conveys his thought in an single trace of his scene itself.

Let us Scrutinize this:

He was active from 1977- 1990. He died in 1990.He left the world leaving behind his super hit movies & exceptional work .Now there is new Generation proceeding, but still today many of the youngsters are 'die hard fan' of Nag's work in film industry.

The path of his journey is only an inspiration for many filmmakers. His debut movie as an actor "Ondanondu kaladalli" by carrying his beard look( I don't need to explain how trendy the beard look is now)

He started his profession as an writer by writing script of 22 June 1897 - Marathi film, got National film Award for best film on National Integration.

  • Minchina Ota

  • Geetha

  • Nodi Swamy Navirodhu Hige

(are the famous and popular movies that he was an actor,Director, producer & writer)

For Minchina Ota got many state awards.
Later he did movie" Accident", also made an English movie called " The Watchman" & famous, superhit movie "Ondu Muttina Kathe" - he directed the movie in 1987 for Dr. Rajkumar,an legendary actor by playing the lead role.

Ondu Muttina Kathe was lossely based on John Steinbeck's Novel - THE PEARL
(This is the speciality of Shankar Nag choosing the scripts)

These are the type of movies that industry is missing now. Some directors chooses remake scripts( it's good to remake)but the sad part is they even copies the same colour custumes & clothing( like seriously ? It's not cool).

When it comes to TV series. In 1987 itself he introduced "Malgudi Days" which bought whole new change to TV media in its initial times.

Shankar Nag was an rare example for heist movie maker in Kannada.

Work with your Negatives, To get a good picture. - Shankar Nag
