Parvathamma Rajkumar (6 December 1939- 31 May 2017)was an Indian Film Producer and distributor. She was the wife of veteran Kannada actor Rajkumar.

Parvathamma produced successful films featuringRajkumar and their sons under the production house named "Poornima Enterprises."

Rajkumar and Parvathamma was the best example of this proverb. She was not just wife of Rajkumar also she managed the scripts for him & also she suggested suitable actresses for the roles.

DIVING INTO THE PAST

Singanallur Puttaswamaiah, the father of Rajkumar had placed a silver coin in her cradle and allegedly vowed to make her his daughter-in-law in 1939.

At the age of 14, she got married to Rajkumar on 25 June 1953. They have five children together: sons Shiva, Raghavendra and Puneeth, & the daughters Lakshmi and Poornima.

As a producer, she had produced over 80 movies in which she produced featuring Rajkumar in 36 movies, Shiv Rajkumar in 17 movies, Raghavendra Rajkumar in 12 movies and Puneeth Rajkumar in 9 movies.

Everyone called her an "Amma"

Parvathamma Rajkumar is known as the strong pillar of Sandalwood. Dr. Rajkumar is the biggest star of Kannada film industry, Parvathamma can be called the person who launched numerous actors, singers, and technicians in the Kannada film industry.

This lady is an example in herself.

She is not just the wife of the celebrity but has produced over 80 films from her own banner and also introduced 20 actresses to KFI.

Her interest in productions
She was very good in Mathematics; Eldest daughter of Appajigowda & Lakshmamma was encouraged to pursue her studies. Sources said Maths was her favorite subject. This interest might have helped her in getting a stronghold over financial matters in the production of films.

Shankar Guru, Anuraga Aralitu, Jeevana Chaitra, Janumada Jodi, and Nanjundi Kalyana movies ran in the theaters for over a year. 16 movies she produced were screened for over 25 weeks, 33 films ran for 100 days, and 19 films ran for 50 days.

Shaktidhama: for the destitute women

Parvathamma opened Shaktidhama for the destitute women. This center has helped more than 1,000 women to be self-sufficient, proving that not only she was empowered but she even believed in women empowerment & strived towards making women independent.

At last, Parvathamma is an strong women, well known producer & role model for many aspiring young producers.
