What do you think would be the food most loved by Indians??

BIRYANI or biriyani or however you want to spell. But the taste should not change. The one food that has the utmost capability to quench the desire of your nose through the delightful smell and your mouth ( automatically starts watering at the sight of biryani , now don't try to control , you can't ).

Diclaimer:: This whole story might seem exaggerated , but this is the whole emotion behind me eating biryani and how I celebrate it.Also I haven't considered vegetarian spiced rice as biryani anytime.

Yes. Just like you I love biryani too ( May be a lot more). As I was eating biryani and hunting for new topics to write for today's blog , this sudden spark struck my mind and I decided to pour my biryani emotions into this post.

To me biryani has been the most tempting food right from my childhood. Every Sunday or whenever I take a day off from my not so busy college schedule I eat biryani.

"How do you overcome your sadness or stress?? " , if you ask this question to me then this would be my answer - FOOD. I am a big time foodie (not an ordoinary foodie). I live my life like " food is life, life is food".

To me this B food has always been my best mate. It's smell keeps lingering around. The flavour that arises from it has the properties to absorb all my illnesses and even the illness that I'm yet to develop. You might term this as a complete example for exaggeration again ( Ha!! Then you're probably an anti-indian or anti-biryanian).

There are many types of Biryani, starting right from Kashmir and ending in Kanyakumari this food has evolved and adapted to the taste of the people in that region. To name some Hyderabadi, Lucknowi, Thalaserry, Sindhi, and a number of types in Tamil Nadu especially the Ambur biryani (personal favourite) and the Chettinadu biryanies are a must in everybody's to-taste list of foods.

Once I visited a hotel. I never look into the menu cards by the way. Right away ordered for a plate of biryani. The waiter asked me to wait for 15 minutes, 15 whole minutes until I could smell, eat , touch ,feel and live biryani. HMM... I waited (won't you wait for a few minutes inorder to savour your most loved food?). After 15 minutes, the waiter appeared in the room, I started focussing the plate in his hand. It was "Samburrr". Eww!! No.

Finally my dearest food landed on my plate. You should follow the norms for eating a food. First take the food in your hand , thank the almighty for the great food. Secondly smell and feel the food. The good smell makes you feel refreshed even without eating. Okay now let's move on to the story. I threw the spoon away (No!!! You can't eat biryani with a spoon). You don't get the feels of getting one with the food, the spoon is a very pushy thing. I took a handful of the rice, not just rice, but the rice flavoured by the exotic Indian spices ( bay leaf, star anise, cardamom, pepper and cinnamon) . But you don't want these spices to interfere with the relationship between your tongue and the food (carefully pick the odd ones out before eating else you are likely to end up with a disgusting tongue out face). I ate the food and felt the divine taste of it , the taste that made my taste buds jump in excitement. They asked for more. I loaded tons of the food into my mouth just to fire the enthusiasm of the taste buds more. I ended up having a food baby. I gave the baby a good rub and paid the bill with all the satisfaction that I could get in life.

Do you have a biryani story??

Dude!! You must. If you don't then I have to ask you this question.

"Have'nt you enjoyed your life?"
