The city that took the name of our country a notch higher,
The heart of the tech society of our country,
The capital city of Karnataka, “Namma Bengaluru”, BANGALORE!

The versatility of this city made it stand out from the rest of the cities in India. Well known for its nightlife and nature, Bangalore was nothing short than a pure bliss for every Indian youth in this century.

Bangalore topped in many lists, including in being the 3rd most populous city and being the I.T. capital. However as the number of immigrants in the city increased, the population increased in an alarming rate. People in this city was never the problem, instead the traffic and transportation was!!

Blaming people was never an ideal solution. In this present condition every single individual deserves to have his/her means of transportation. But this was not doing any good to the people coming in and out of Bangalore, because the traffic kept them held back for hours or probably even days.

So the question now is, will this traffic ever be resolved or what could possibly be done to reduce this to some extend?

Solutions for the above mentioned problem will appear to be surplus at a single sight. However the implementation of these solutions in this real world on a day to day basis is the real task.

Here are a few solutions that I feel would bring down the rate of the traffic in this city to some extent.

Firstly, pool transportation. Yes, no one would love this idea because everyone will prefer to go and come in their own pace and timings. Well, there are many added advantages to this pool transportation that outshines its own so called “inconvenience”. Mainly, it reduces pollution as well the consumption of petrol. The mindset of people is the first barrier for pool transportation. As I mentioned earlier, people get so concerned about letting others be a part of their time slot and privacy. This pool transportation should be considered as a service to the society rather than making it all about oneself. It should also be considered as an opportunity for the people working in the same firm to bring forth a unity and togetherness among themselves.

Secondly, reduce the number of vehicles owned by a single family. Nowadays it is a very common trend to see members of the same family owning multiple vehicles in spite of living under the same roof. This discourages the use of public transportation and also the pooling will never be a better option. Frankly speaking one vehicle per family is more than enough for a regular family.

Last but not the least; this is something that should be taken care of by the government rather than the people. The roads should be well maintained and widened enough. Separate lanes should be provided for heavy, light and two-wheelers. This way the congestion in the roads can significantly be reduced. Additionally special fare and consideration should be given to those people who use the public means of transportation very frequently. Along with that people should also be encouraged to use public transportation and more means of transportation should be put into use for the public.

In short, the traffic is the equally the problem of the people and the government. No sole decision can mitigate this issue. Only the combined effort of both parties will sufficiently bring forth a visible difference.

So I urge the people and the government to join hands. Together we can be a part of this huge movement and bring a congestion control to our beautiful city, BANGALORE.
