Today, in our generation, we have got a lot to think about, learn about, know about, and work upon. The expectations are high and all of thisleads to stress and mental pressure.

While having your back against the walls works really well for some people and they come out as winners;however, for some, it’s the other way round. They succumb to the pressure and eventually;it leads to even more stress or worse depression.

So first, this self-care Sunday routine is not only for the day it’s just a phrase that’s so catchy. Basically, you do your self-care routine whenever you desire. The motto of this self-care routine is to make it a personal habit you’ll be grateful for having at any stage of life.

Make up your bed.
As, a bed in the bedroom is like 80% of your room, right? So, that’s a good start as a cleaned room is a cleaned up mind. If you make your bed every morning, you have accomplished the first task of the day. Hence, if you win the morning, you win the day.

Prepare a soul-charging breakfast.
Breakfast provides the body and brain with fuel after an overnight fast that’s where its name originates, breaking the fast! So, the best way to start a day is not to skip breakfast.

Meditate.
Get in at least five short sessions before you get too ambitious with a length of time. There are endless options but when you’re starting out, it can be as simple as sitting in a comfortable position with your back supported and focusing on your breathing while you listen to a song that puts you in a good mood.

Write things you want to do by the day.

  • Start your day by writing your intentions/goals for the day.

  • What is that one thing I can do today to add to my happiness? - It can be a walk with your dog or cooking dinner for your partner.

  • How much should I spend today? - If you keep a budget for the day, you’ll notice that you will spend less than other days when you don’t.

Turn off your phone for X amount of time.
Everyone is on his/her mobile. You can make a statement by being ‘with your own life’. There is so much around us we miss out on. Phones and their apps will be there with us an hour later, but the time we spend with the people sitting with us will not come back.

Meet up or call a friend.
Attempt to meet up in person rather than following the habit of texting, messaging, and emailing. Just live the moment! Make memories, talk about all the stuff, all the fun you had, all the fights and the little heated arguments. And yes, where there are friends, there’s food!! So, eat all you can, and enjoy!

Do something that makes you laugh.
Everyone has their own room of happiness. No explanation needed on this.

Replace/Donate 3 items.

  • Sometimes we have certain things for so long we don’t see it anymore, instead replace a couple of objects and add space to your home.

  • To donate is a great form of giving and practical, too.

It’s okay to be bored.
Don’t punish yourself for feeling bored. Allow yourself some spacing out and make most out of it.

Approach all listed above as a candy store. You would not eat all at once instead have one and leave rest for the later. Doing the same here, check off the one most benefited to you for now and follow up for the next Sunday.

Owe yourself the love and care thatyou so freely give to others!
