F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Will Be There For You!

One of the most popular sitcoms that had ever been worldwide is F.R.I.E.N.D.S. It has been over a decade since the show completed its successful run of ten years and still it tops the list of comic series. It amazes me that how even today the show still bags a spot on people’s favourite series though being a show of 90’s era. Also, there are thousands of fan accounts of this show that reveals that people are not at all tired of quoting the iconic lines and reliving their favourite moments from this iconic series.

I was not a FRIENDS’ fan a couple of years before and therefore could not understand what the fuss was all about? Then after watching all the episodes, I realized why everyone love a simple series this much. It keeps you hooked if you are watching for the first time (trust me, I finished watching it without even realizing that I was reaching towards the end) and it’s not only that cliff-hangers that make you eager to watch the next episode, every normal episodes too keeps us intact the same way. One thing that really astonishes me is how relatable the show is and no matter what year it is, it still reflects that same relations, Applauds to the makers!

Let us now talk about the cast and how adorable each character is. Monica Gellar (Courtney Cox) is a person with OCD; she is funny but also strict. Her brother Ross Gellar (David Schwimmer) is a caring, good-hearted person, sometimes with annoying habits. Rachel Green (Jennifer Anniston) has the most growth throughout the show and is highly fashionable and funny. Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc) is a sweetheart, dumb and ladies’ man. Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow) is an absolutely weird character whose antics makes it hard to not to laugh. Lastly, Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry) is the most sarcastic one and probably the funniest of them all. These are the people who earned immense love right from 1994 and besides this love; they still earn money through the show.

One other striking feature of the show is the perfect division of the screen space. All the six main characters have almost equal amount of screen space, storyline in each episode and punch lines. There is no particular central character out of those six because of excellent written scripts. Yes, there are some online blogs that claims that Ross is the central character but the makers never agreed to it and that is why all of them were the prominent ones.

It’s just not that, several other things too make this show as lovable as it is like various guests’ special appearance, certain twists and original storylines. The show is not an epitome of perfection because there are several loopholes but they are so small that they can be neglected and be re-watched again and again without getting bored.
