You all might be wondering, about the title that I have given to my article. Instead of this if i had given the title as SRK, Salman Khan,DeepikaPadukone, Alia Bhatt, you all might have hadseveral thoughts.

Coming to the point,ArunachalamMuruganathamis a social entrepreneur from Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, India. He is the inventor of a low-cost sanitary pad-making machine and is credited for innovating grassroots mechanisms for generating awareness about traditional unhygienic practices around menstruation in rural areas.

Infact, a movie has also been directed on the same topic. The lead Role was played by “AkshayKumar” in the movie named “Padman” which was released on 9thFeburary2018.

Still in many areas, womenfind it difficult to go to school while on theirperiods. People still make fun of them when their clothes get dirty due to the same. There are still many places where the people are not aware of the diseases or infections caused due to unhygienic clothes used by women in rural areas. There are still many places where women are ashamed to go to, likethe medical shop to buy sanitary napkins for themselves, as they think that if men will see this they might make fun of them.

To overcome theseproblems faced by the Indian women, during their menstrualcycles,ArunachalamMuruganathaminvented a low-cost machine on which women work and they themselves sell those sanitary napkins by going door-to-door. This not only increased the number of users but also created awareness among the people.

This whole story is incredibly portrayed as a documentary on Netflix with the title: - “Period-The end of the sentence.” This documentary is also listed as Netflix’s Oscar winning film. Since these days new generation is more into web series rather than movies,this was a big hit on Netflix.

Few questions were asked to teenage boys regarding “Periods” which is also named as “Mahwadi” in the begging of the documentary. Later on,all the points were madeclearto them regarding the same. This is atwenty-five minutes documentaryavailable on Netflix. If you are not a member of Netflix, then you can definitely watchthe Bollywood Movie “Padman” which is similar to the film on Netflix.
