  वे बोले," क्या तुम हमारे पास इसलिए आए हो कि अकेले अल्लाह की हम बन्दगी करें और जिनको हमारे बाप - दादा पूजते रहे है, उन्हें छोड़ दें ? अच्छा, तो जिसकी तुम हमें धमकी देते हो, उसे हमपर ले आओ, यदि तुम सच्चे हो ।"

• Righteousness is not whether you face towards the east or the west. But righteousness is to believe in Allah and the Last Day, in the angels and the Book, and the Prophets, and to give wealth however cherished, to kinsmen, to the orphans, to the needy, to the destitute traveler, and to the beggars, and to ransom the slave ; who establish their prayers and pay the obligatory charity ; who are true to their promise when they have promised. Who are patient in misfortune and hardship and during the time of courage. Such are the truthful ; such are the cautious.
  नेकी कुछ यही थोड़ी है कि नमाज़ में अपने मुँह पूरब या पश्चिम की तरफ़ कर लो बल्कि नेकी तो उसकी है जो ख़ुदा और रोज़े आख़िरत और फ़रिश्तों और ख़ुदा की किताबों और पैग़म्बरों पर ईमान लाए और उसकी उलफ़त में अपना माल क़राबत दारों और यतीमों और मोहताजो और परदेसियों और माँगने वालों और लौन्डी ग़ुलाम में सर्फ करे और पाबन्दी से नमाज़ पढे और ज़कात देता रहे और जब कोई एहद किया तो अपने क़ौल के पूरे हो और फ़क्र व फाक़ा रन्ज और घुटन के वक्त साबित क़दम रहे यही लोग वह हैं जो दावए ईमान में सच्चे निकले और यही लोग परहेज़गार है

• Eight pairs: Of the sheep twain, and of the goats twain. Say: Hath He forbidden the two males or the two females, or that which the wombs of the two females contain ? Expound to me with knowledge, if ye are truthful.
  आठ नर - मादा पैदा किए - दो भेड़ की जाति से और दो बकरी की जाति से - कहो," क्या उसने दोनों नर हराम किए है या दोनों मादा को ? या उसको जो इन दोनों मादा के पेट में हो ? किसी ज्ञान के आधार पर मुझे बताओ, यदि तुम सच्चे हो ।"

• They said, “ Have you come to us in order that we worship only Allah, and abandon those whom our ancestors worshipped ?! So bring upon us what you promise us, if you are truthful. ”
  वे बोले," क्या तुम हमारे पास इसलिए आए हो कि अकेले अल्लाह की हम बन्दगी करें और जिनको हमारे बाप - दादा पूजते रहे है, उन्हें छोड़ दें ? अच्छा, तो जिसकी तुम हमें धमकी देते हो, उसे हमपर ले आओ, यदि तुम सच्चे हो ।"

• And to those who were Jews We made unlawful every animal having claws, and of oxen and sheep We made unlawful to them the fat of both, except such as was on their backs or the entrails or what was mixed with bones: this was a punishment We gave them on account of their rebellion, and We are surely truthful.
  और हमने यहूदियों पर तमाम नाख़ूनदार जानवर हराम कर दिये थे और गाय और बकरी दोनों की चरबियां भी उन पर हराम कर दी थी मगर जो चरबी उनकी दोनों पीठ या आतों पर लगी हो या हडड्ी से मिली हुई हो ये हमने उन्हें उनकी सरक़शी की सज़ा दी थी और उसमें तो शक ही नहीं कि हम ज़रूर सच्चे हैं
