We all know its exam time, so i am going to keep this article short and crisp. We all want to have the best grades, right? but what we forget in chasing the good grades is the understanding of the subject which is really important too. But in short amount of time the whole subject cannot be understood, so here are my tips to get better grades in short time preparation..
UNDERSTAND THE SYLLABUS
If you are confused about where to start my preperation, start with this. See what all subjects have you studied earlier and how many topics you need to cover in the amount of time you have. Then sort out all the topics you can find in the available books and references you have available in your room. This will tell you about the topics you need to refer from internet and other sources.
GATHER IMPORTANT NOTES AND TEXTS
Now as the syllabus is solved , tackel the most difficult subject first as it will take more time to understand than the others and work it through. collect all the notes from peer and start studying the books related to the topic and mark them accordingly in the book to remember.
MAKE SHORT NOTES
This is the way i study, it is difinetly very effective for me. This is how i study the topic once clearly and then i have my own notes to revise before the day of exam. You may not make notes, its your choice . if you are able to grasp the topics in one or two readings its perfect, but do keep a small copy of formulas and important topics to revise at the end.
HIGHLIGHT THE IMPORTANT POINTS
Text on topics can be as long as 10- 12 pages, but not all of it is important. Underline those lines that you think are relevant and can be written in exam as a point. This helps the brain to register those lines as it has being underlined and read twice than the other texts.
LAST YEAR PAPERS
Being in the university after some time you will realise that this step is very important and irrespective of any exam this must be done. Last year papers will give you an idea about how the paper will be set and what type of questions you are going to face. According to me you need to solve at least one entire paper of a subject before giving it. This prepares your brain to work quickly during exams cause you have already attempted a similar paper before.
