Teenage can be a really tricky and equally important time in a person's life. Most for the life lessons and BIG decisions are to be made by a person in a time, when he is uncertain of what he/she even wants to eat for lunch!. Isn't that strange and ironical? Well that's life isn't it?
While this ruckus of hormones and adrenaline and various changes to one's body. The person is not only vulnerable to his behaviour but to his mental health. All the teens know what i am talking about eh?well for those who don't YOU SHOULD. As it might not seem much to you but for them it's like the end of the world!!
1) The love life of a teenager.(16-19)
To be honest everybody nowadays thinks that relationships don't work for longer periods of time. Well for someone who falls in love during that timespan and then finds out that it "wasn't that serious". That it was just a FLING?! For someone who is still figuring out what they want to do in their life!. It would break anyone and not just a teenager. And for a teenager who has all his life ahead and is stuck and overthinking over the fact of something as complicated as love. For the parents. Most of them don't even know what is happening. This is THE origin to something as big as depression and the parents are playing "swing and a miss."
2)Exam pressure.
We all have been through the tough times of BOARDS in our 12th and now in 10th too. The cherry on top here is the "preparation" For competition and entrance exams for IITs,NITs and what not. Still most of the people think that going into a good college means only IITs and NITs and a handful more. The preparation, effort and the COMPETITION for getting in is increasing every year.
This type of pressure and the fear of not doing good and maybe being called a failure. Even worse 'a disgrace' in some delusional homes. where IITs are more important than their child's dream tells exactly why most of the parents don't think of it as a problem and hence don't know about it.
3) Depression/Anxiety/overthinking.
This deadly trio is more deadly than amit shah, Narendra modi and Rajnath singh.
These three are the most common yet the most unacknowledged problems in India. Problems such as depression and anxiety are taken as something as minor as a cold or a bruise. People need to understand that problems like these are a basic necessity to something as big as suicide. Well i would point a finger at the education system but then again as soon as this ends everyone is gonna forget about it eh?
4)Family pressure and expectations.
We know you want us to do good in life mom/dad. We know that you want us to be even more successful than you and even we want that too. But what of we wanted to be successful in a different way? What if we just wanted your support and happiness in what ever we choose to do?
Questions like these have crossed our minds. Not once, not twice but every time we have to make a choice and you need your parents to trust you. This develops distances and THAT word is never good when talking about family!! And here too the parents don't know the pressure on a kid to choose, between his dream or his family's dream!!
Kids! Do what your mind suggests and your heart approves. It's not the end of the world but live every day like it's the last day of the human kind. Be a Free bird and inspire others to live a life they remember and they remember it for the choices YOU made and showed everyone that YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT AS WELL.
