India, now home of the deadly Corona Virus ,daily cases are rising rapidly. Government has fallaciously failed to combat with this second wave of COVID-19 . Now questions arising against capability of our bureaucracy . Is our policy makers failed to fight ?
Union public service commission, a constitutional body , who gives civil servants to the nation . After watching this situation questions arises against upsc about recruitment process . People are dying while waiting outside the hospitals , health infrastructure has been totally collapsed . It is more shameful watching people dying due to lack of oxygen inside the hospitals . However this is not the first time when questions arising against bureaucracy. In the past, UPSC has to change syllabus of recruitment when it came to know about lack of ethical sense in civil servants .
Is UPSC succeed to create ethical sense ?
Recent case of Tripura has shown this answer where a District Magistrate of Agartala seen ‘Dhakka -mukki’ with pandit’ in a marriage . The approach he followed totally unethical .
On the other hand , Commission has given some extraordinary civil servants. Before second COVID wave the DM of Nandurbar in Maharashtra who foresaw the need of oxygen . His actions helped the district manage the current crisis of oxygen shortage . It was an example of a trivial district of Maharashtra. But when we see the whole country struggling for oxygen it is like a drop in a ocean .
Again time has come questions arising against government, against government agencies , against capabilities of bureaucracy. What will be the future of recruitment of civil servants ? Will UPSC again needs to rethink about recruitment process ? Will there be any changes in close future ?
