Today is a big day, and I have been looking up for this day for months now.
I woke up early today, drank my morning coffee did my routine chores promptly. Even max woke up early today, oh isn't he a good boy wagging his tail as he makes his way to me. Max is the best fur baby one could ever ask for and he is my little sunshine. I give him his treat and look at my phone to check the time, knowing I certainly need to hurry up.

I enter my room open my closet and decide to dress nicely for I want to be seen as an impressive person but also not too edgy but also a bit approachable well I can't risk with anything today. I check myself in the mirror and could notice how tensed I am, Okay I surely need to calm down be more confident and worry less, obviously they are going to like me. Positive thoughts I think of positive thoughts, I think of how it isn't that scary and I'll surely succeed it.

I put all my documents in a folder and double check if everything is kept in.
My phone buzzes and it says, mom. I receive the call and a happy voice greets me from the other end, she wishes me luck and tells me to not worry about anything. It is easy said than done I answer. After the call, I grab my car keys and head to the door, I see max a few steps behind and boy needs to be petted. I tell him I'll be back early and step out of the house.

I drive my car getting the navigations from the GPS as it says it'll take 30 minutes to reach the destination and I wish I won't reach late. I spot a 5-year-old running his way to the ice cream truck at the red signal and a smile plasters my face. He has happiness radiating from himself when his father pays for his ice cream and gives him the ice cream cone. A car honks from behind as the signal goes green and I am back at my route.

The nearer I get to the address the more and more I feel scared. What if I am not good enough? What if I am not deserving? What if they reject me? My head is filled with so many thoughts that I almost startle when the GPS says we have reached the destination. I take a deep breath as I park my car in the parking area and walk to the building entrance.

I go to the reception area and tell the lady why I was here, she gives me a warm smile and says: "Welcome to the Orphan home, we were expecting you today. Your adoptive parent interview will begin in 10 mins in the office to your left ".
