Bollywood,or we can say the Hindi film industry of India ,with the annual production of more than 1K films each year is one of the world's largest film industry.Since the time when the first Indian audible film,Alam Ara was produced in 1931,till the present decade, this Industry has set a freaky and fantastically lavish history of producing a variety of movies with different genres,be that comedy, romance, thriller, horror or drama.

Unlike the movies made today in the twenty first century, the movies of 1950s were utterly different in every single term.

There had been four phases of the Indian cinema-

1.The first phase began from 1940 and lasted till the early 1960 and was known to be the "Golden era of the Indian cinema".The most known movies of the time were like MOTHER INDIA(1957),AWAARA(1951),and many more like them. These movies revolved around the point of struggles faced by the common man,due to which the common man,due to which the movies proved to be quite relatable to the audience.

2.The second phase counts from late 1960s to early 1980s.This phase saw a drastic change in the plot of the movies. The movies which arked this period were like,ANAND(1970) and SHOLAY(1975).The genre of these movies was action based and romantic in nature, hence were completely different from the movies produced earlier. The hero in this phase was very good at punching and kicking, and used to win the heroine's heart at the end of the movie.

3.The third phase began from the late 1980s and ran till early 2000s.This phase marked the most variant shift in the movie-making procedure.Advanced technology for the production of movies was introduced.Mr.INDIA(1987) was the first Indian scientific movies which proved to be a runaway hit.

4.The last phase began from the late 2000s and is still running in the year 2019.In this phase, more emphasis was given on the technological effects.Movies like KOI MIL GAYA(2003) and RA-ONE(2011) starring Hrithik Roshan and Shahrukh Khan respectively proved to be hits.

As we can see that as the time passes by the content of the movies kept on changing. The reason being that ,the audience has changed in every single term.In terms of standard or in terms of thinking. As the audience changed to upper class ,the movies started revolving around Rich heroes with bikes and money.

Hence,in conclusion, the changing patern of today's film industry can be the result of changing mindset of the audience, and also ,that the producers also want to attract the international audience.
