Choices- The Definition Of A Person

This is a pretty common word but holds a great deal of value in life. Because our life is defined by the choices we make.

As Christopher Nolan’s Batman has said, “It doesn’t matter who I am underneath it’s what I do that defines me”. It is true, a man is known for the things he/she has done, for the choices they have made. Success in life is the same way, it’s your choices which determines the outcome. Yes, I agree that there are many other forces which determines the outcome but choices holds the largest percentage.

For example, every morning you set an alarm for 5 am, that’s your choice. You snooze the alarm with at 5 am, that’s your choice. You might fail at a task, but you can choose to work at it continuously until you find the sweet success, that’s your choice. You can choose to not be a criminal. It is always you. As I am saying this you might acknowledge how powerful you are, as you hold the key for everything that can happen in your life.

I was taught one great thing too, that when things which are not in your control starts going south, you must take responsibility for it because that will separate you from the rest and let you focus on the bigger task, i.e. finding solutions to the problem that is in front of you.

For many kids their role models are a favorite singer, athlete, or their parents. Based on what their role model would do, they would think it is right to do also. As years pass, kids may change who their role models are but at the same time, they can keep the same one, they may just have a better understanding of what to do. Sometimes the views of their role model is that, if he or she can do it, it will be okay for them to do it also. But this is very untrue. If their role model is and alcoholic , then the person may get the impression that it is okay and that they can too, but they cannot if they are not of age.

Life is said to be a basic human right, whereas death is a natural occurrence. The only things that is different between a living human being and a dead one are prior events. One can choose a path that keeps one's self alive one extra day, whereas another can choose a path that leads to one's death.

In the end the power always lies with us and with our ability, our decisiveness and our wisdom we can choose a better option. Always.
