Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan

'Nusrat' what a legendary name😊.Well like his name he was great Qawwali and ghazal singer too.He is popularly known as "Shahenshah-e-Qawwali"which means 'The king of Qawwali'.Qawwali is a music form of Pakistani music associatedwith sufis.

His voice touched many heart in his times.He was a great musician and singer who devoted himself to sufi musics.Well according to people he was so great in music that he was able to sung songs for several hours.

His father was a singer and musician too due to which he gained interest in this art form but like all fathers he also wanted his child either to become a successfuldoctor or an engineerbecause he thought that Qawwali singer have low status at that time.

But fate wanted something else and he took his family's 600 years old tradition to a new level.He introducedQawwali to international audiences.He started his art from playing Tabla of his father's but when his father died he got his training from his uncles.

Born in Faisalabad he gave his first performances when he was 16 years old at his father's 'chelum'.And became the head of Qawwali party in 1971.

As time passed little by little by experimenting with tempo and different voice ranges he became a well known Qawwali singer throughout Pakistan in his generation.And in a very short period of time he gained that stage in life that his fame and magic of voice was getting heard by all over the world.

Shortly,in 1980s he signed Oriental Star Agencies ,England and he went on releasing movie scores and albums in EUROPE,INDIA,JAPAN,PAKISTAN and UNITED STATES.

Now,through collaboration withwesternartist he became a well known world music artist.He covered 40 countries in his this journey and had a very great impact on various contemporary musics.

Later he got married with first cousin,'NAHEED',who was a beloved daughter of his uncle 'SALAMAT ALI KHAN in 1979 and they had a sweet daughter 'NIDA'.

In his last days hesufferedfrom kidney and liver failure in 1997 in London.While during a fatal heart attack on 16 August 1997 when he was just 48 years old this world lost alegendarymusicianand singer.

After this' RAHAT FATEH ALI KHAN' bought his legacyforward.
