Hope is all one needs, Redemption is all one deserves.

Hold
On
Pain
Ends...

Sometimes all a person has is Hope. So, when you hear someone saying, 'There is still hope.', never snatch that from him. Maybe, that's all he might have.

Redemption is a weird thing. Though it has a simple definition, it may not mean the same for everyone out there.

For most redemption may mean washing off all your sins before you die, if you ever believe in heaven. For others, it keeps on changing forms and in phrases.

" Hope is a dangerous thing. Hope can drive a man insane. "

Even if you have been living under a rock, you might have heard of The Shawshank Redemption. One of the finest movies I've ever seen. Well narrated in Morgan Freeman's voice with a good storyline that keeps you linked in. If you have, I'm sure the above line is hard to forget and easiest to believe.

Life isn't a piece of cake and a lot of things keep happening with us which points to that. All you need is the acknowledgement for that.

Easy Peasy Japanesey is just a phrase to make us feel better. If it were easy, it wasn't life and struggle.

Shawshank was loud and clear in one thing, shit happens all the time and it can happen to anyone. Andy was convicted with a murder he didn't commit. He served 20 years for a punishment he didn't deserve. He suffered more than that for standing up for himself.

He lost his family, he lost his close friend and he even lost his student who could have done well in life out of prison if life had been easy. He did make friends but the thought of being held as a criminal even though he wasn't, ate him up all the time.

One tragic incident changes your life, but a couple of them, change you as a person.

Despite the injustice, Andy Dufresne didn't give up one thing, that was HOPE!

HOPE was his REDEMPTION.

Giving up is always easy.

I can't
I couldn't.
It's difficult.
Not my cup of tea or coffee.
I'm not made for this.

It's so much easier to say NO then is to say YES, I think there's HOPE.

Think about how many times you've given up or said no to things which you realised later could have been done. Maybe there won't be many but there won't be zero.

Maybe those were the junctions where your life could have changed for better.

People give up hopes on their passions. And then when they see others doing what they love, all they become are critics. It came easy for him. She was meant to do this.

Little they realise, it's all about not giving up hope and accepting the risk to fail.

Andy could have given up hope on digging the hole in the wall even before starting it. He could fear the idea of being caught.

20 years is all it took for a perfect redemption.

You can't always get what you want, sometimes you need to take what you deserve.

Salvation lies within.
If not, we humans could have died long before we could even think of inventing aeroplanes or cell phones.

"Get busy living or get busy dying."

That's what we really do. All this struggle just for surviving one day till we die. They say destination doesn't matter, the journey is all that counts.

The choice is simple.

Get busy living with hope.
Get busy living for your dreams.
Get busy living for your family.
Get busy living to live and not just to survive.

There are many things we observe and learn from this film 25-year-old film.

First, that family can be found where you least expect it to exist.
Second, your will-power is stronger than you believe.
Third, don't lose hope because it's the easiest thing to lose.

Lives are messed up, they always and indeed are.

All you need to do is find your own redemption.

For,

" Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies."
