“There are wounds that never show on the body that are deeper and more hurtful than anything that bleeds.”

― Laurell K. Hamilton, Mistral's Kiss

Lately, studies have shown that most of the teenage people are suffering from depression from whatever reasons but they are. It's not hard to guess why and how considering times have changed and kids have become more insecure, vulnerable and intolerant but this doesn't mean this is all kids fault. It is a whole society's fault that they're not about to save the kids from it because we still see lots of cases kids are uncomfortable to tell their parents and loved ones because they fear they might just not get it.

There are several reasons came out while researching why this has gone this far and the topmost reason was - Social Media. We all know how important social media has become in the past few years and know how this affects one's life. Most of the kids caught up in it by posting and assuming to please the audience they have like - ' This is who I am ' while social media was invented people to just show - ' this is what I do '. There is a sense of validation always from the people see your posts and which never ends. This makes them grow insecure, jealous and anxious about their own looks.

The great author of our time John Green quoted- ''Whenever you read a cancer booklet or website or whatever, they always list depression among the side effects of cancer. But, in fact, depression is not a side effect of cancer. Depression is a side effect of dying.” Its really funny how some family members take this dreadful illness lightly and casually try to treat it like - '' oh, go for a nice walk'' and something. People need to acknowledge it is a serious illness and there should be no need to certifying any illness like its not serious enough if there are thousands of people dying because of it all over the globe. We need to make the sign of the times.
