Democracy as everyone will agree is that form of government which gives supreme power to the people. And how it is ensured that people remains powerful? Undoubtedly it is through democratic institutions that the power of the people is maintained. Executive, legislature , judiciary, media and all the other institutions working in the country have the sole mandate of serving the people

Having said the proper mandate of these institutions let’s look at the current functioning of these. Everybody except the andh bhakts will agree to the fact that these institutions have now a days forgotten their true mandate. They have turned against the people and in the way weakened the democracy of the country. A one on one analysis of these institutions is essential to make us realize the grave danger we are in.

Executive

Negative growth rate of the employment, poorly planned governance reforms like demonetisation and GST, rising communal clashes and a silent PM and his council of ministers about the facts of their achievements ( silent only on political matters ) are only a few to list the poor performance of the executive. In mutilating all the voices of oppression by branding them anti national, the government has forgotten to serve the people who voted them to power

Legislature

The parliament where the laws of the country are framed is as chaoticas a barbareous society. Parliamentarians with least attendance in the house gets elected again because we don’t have any choice. Personal attacks surface more here than any genuine discussion about what concerns the people. It takes years to pass meaningful legislations like HIV persons rights bill , transgender rights bills, Persons with disabilities rights bill etc. Alas the Women parliamentReservation bill's time has still not arrived

Judiciary

Lakhs of pending cases and unfilled vacancies have overburdened the judiciary. Apart from that corruption and criminal cases levelled against the judges make us question the justice we get in the courts. With even the judges complaining in open about the court proceedings the situation has gone out of control

Media

Media has always been called the fourth pillar of democracy. But not anymore. PM doing Ganga Aarti, non political interviews when elections are at its peak, the oil used by Yogi, who is dating whom in the film industry etc top the news channels than agrarian crisis, assault against women or any other matter which needs to be discussed

The above mentioned institutions were once hailed as the 4 pillars of democracy. But currently they are catering to demolish rather than construct democracy. They are continuously harming the democracy because we don’t care anymore. Unless we start caring and protesting for our political rights, these are not going to change. So raise your voice for the sake of democracy . The power is in your hands and it has always been. Use it wisely!!!!!!!
